Much Wenlock, Shropshire, England
Power optional grass travel trailer campsite
Liked Fairly clean site, quiet site, enough facilities for such a small site, walkable to Much Wenlock, short taxi ride to Blists Hill and Ironbridge, very secure site with security code to enter, felt safe, showers were ace - great to have control over temperature, free hairdryer that actually works. Would return.
Disliked Very sloped. Even with risers we struggled. Needs to be added to Google maps as sat nav struggles to find it. Busy road noise so not as peaceful as we expected. Minor points.

Liked Close to Lacock. Level pitches. Clean. Easy check in. Close to pubs/restaurants and decent cycle routes. Hot water in the showers. Decent play area for the kids. Hot water in washing up facilities and very useful launderette.Good WiFi.
Disliked Regular traffic up Folly Lane (possibly due to the newish solar farm) - outside the control of the site, of course.
Last time we stayed, I'm also sure there were more facilities. They've since updated them (which did need doing) but now there is not enough washing up, toilet and shower facilities for the number of campers. It's a busy site. Only saw a warden once, which is unusual for such a busy site. There's a number you can call.
Despite this, this is still a good campsite and we would return if in the area.

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to leave such a balanced review and for returning to stay with us again. We're delighted you enjoyed our level pitches, easy check-in, clean facilities, play area, Wi-Fi and our great location within walking distance of Lacock, as well as the nearby pubs, restaurants and cycle routes. Unfortunately, the traffic along Folly Lane is due to the nearby solar farm development and is, as you say, outside of our control. We appreciate your understanding. Regarding the facilities, we invested in completely replacing and modernising our toilet and shower block last year. While the layout has changed, the number of toilets, showers and washing-up sinks remains the same as before. As a small family-run campsite, reception isn't staffed all day, as we're often out cleaning the facilities, maintaining the grounds or helping guests around the site. We carry out multiple walks around the campsite throughout the day, so apologies if we missed you during your stay. However, if we're not in reception, we're always just a phone call away, and someone is never far away should you need any assistance. Thank you again for your feedback. We're really pleased to hear you would stay with us again, and we look forward to welcoming you back if you're in the area.
Trowbridge, Wiltshire, England
Powered cement/asphalt and grass campsite
Liked This is a smallish site in terms of pitches but there is loads of room around each one. Check-in was easy -- the code to enter is emailed to you before you arrive and then you just call the number on the sign. We had a very friendly welcome and shown to our level, clean pitch. The security gate is great -- we felt very safe there.
Facilities block is clean. Loved the concept of having a whole bathroom to use. Made it quite luxurious for a campsite, to be honest! I would imagine this would be perfect for families where small children need to be supervised in the shower. Plenty of hot water in the bathrooms and separate toilet cubicles. One minor gripe would be that the separate toilet cubicles could do with a hook on the inside of the door. There are plenty of hooks in the bathrooms, though.
Close by to a bus stop on the Frome- Chippenham route. Watch out for the return journey though - they stop quite early and we got caught out (on saying that, it was quite cheap for a taxi back from Trowbridge).
10 minutes walk to the Lion and Fiddle. We didn't try the food there but I believe it's very good. The beer was good 😉
Nearby also to the canal, where you can cycle (thick tyres needed) to places like Bradford on Avon. Lots of nice places to relax there.
Also close to several National Trust places.
It's very peaceful . If you strain, you can hear the road from far away, farm machinery every so often and the bell ringers in the church. But that's it.
Disliked A hook on the back of the toilet doors. So simple but would make life a little easier.
Also, there is no hot water at the washing up area. We just boiled a kettle and I noticed other people getting it from the bathroom. It's unusual not to have this these days, though. Minor point that didn't bother us but might with some people.

Liked The quietness, the cleanliness, the location, the wildflowers, the very roomy pitches.30 minutes walk to Scalby along the bridleway (pubs, shop). 15 minutes drive into Scarborough (£15 in a taxi - we used Boro taxis, no Ubers in the area). Friendly little shop on site, option to hire a firepit.
Disliked Only minor stuff. Shower could do with some more hooks and a blind covering the window. Toilet sink tap only had cold water. If you have mobility problems then you might struggle with the facilities as they are in a converted horse box and up a steep ramp. Pitches are on a slope so bring the risers. As I said, this is all just minor. Didn't detract from our positive experience overall but just something to be mindful of if you book.

Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire, England
Powered gravel travel trailer campsite
Liked This is a clean site, close to Stratford. Check in is friendly and quick.
Disliked Not really 'peaceful' as described. Weekends are noisy with parties until curfew. Vans are very close together so you can't help but be disturbed by other people - some hedging would be good. Bus into Stratford very infrequent. Site is much nicer in the week than at the weekend - we've stayed during the week previously.

Liked Spotless site, right on the doorstep of some lovely country walks. Large field for playing. Very close to pubs, gift shop. Quieter site - one road close by but not too busy. Doesn't attract loud groups - very family friendly. No issues with hot water or electric - all worked fine. Check in friendly and easy - it's at the farm up a hill (10 minutes walk or drive up and turn at the farm). Just a lovely clean site. Would definitely return. Canarth is nice to walk into. We spotted leaping fish in the river. Pleasant 8 mile circular route into Newcastle Emlyn and back. Some good attractions further afield - we enjoyed dolphin spotting at New Quay (about 30 minutes away) and a workshop at Castell Henylls (20 minutes away). We'd have liked better weather to explore the National Cycling Network route nearby - maybe next time.
Disliked Being chased back up the farm road by two huge growling dogs! Not sure where they came from so it's not a reflection of the site but something to bear in mind if you have nervous dogs/children/adults - we came across a lot of dogs off leads or just wandering around as we were out walking in the area. All the dogs on the campsite itself were, thankfully, on leads.

Liked Excellent facilities. Toilet and shower were impeccable. Games room is incredible with free pool! Liked the fact there was somewhere warm for the kids to socialise despite the heavy rain. Quiet location. Level pitches. Friendly hosts. Washing up facilities were excellent and in the same place as the games room so easy to manage with the family. We were very impressed and hopefully will return when the weather is kind.
Disliked Nothing really but just a tip to pack your wellies - it's a rural site and some of the ground to cross over from the pitch to the facilities block was muddy due to the rain. There's also only one shower/toilet per sec so don't leave it to the last minute in case there's someone in there!
