Primitive grass travel trailer campsite
Liked Hosts very welcoming. Lovely open space with flat pitches. We stayed on a non electric in the large back field but there was electric pitches too. Clean modern loos and FREE showers. Good washing up facilities too. Nice views of surrounding hills and countryside. Lots of walks from the site. We particularly liked the circular that passed the pub on the way back! We bought a take away curry from the Indian inside the pub and ate it at the van. Probably one of the best we have ever had. Plenty of room for the families that had kiddies too.

Liked Lovely warm welcome. Spacious flat gravel pitch with great views. Clean loos and hot showers. Site was well presented. Lots to do in the area and the train is walking distance. We tried the Honey Pot cafe for breakfast which was really tasty. We were aware before booking that there’s no pot wash and managed fine.

Liked Really warm smiley welcome from Jodie on arrival. Huge back field with lots of space to pitch and level too. The loos/showers were clean and warm. The dressing tables were a great idea with a proper hairdryer! Good washing up area undercover too. Great that it was number plate recognition so no trying to remember PIN codes to get in and out.
We didn’t have the grandkids with us but there was an Easter egg hunt for the kiddies which looked great fun.
Nice walks on site and offsite too.
Firepits and bbqs allowed.

Liked We were greeted by John on arrival and he was very welcoming and friendly. The site was beautifully kept. The grounds were immaculate and spacious. We had a gravel pitch which was level and had a lovely view of the lake.
The amenities were spotlessly clean and warm. Probably the best we have ever been too in over 30 years.

Liked Lovely, well kept site. We was in a hard standing pitch which had ample space. Toilet/shower block so warm which was fabulous in this cold weather. Great to be able to just arrive and choose a pitch ourselves. Views were far reaching and it was so peaceful but still close to get to other places.

Swaledale Shelter camping pod
Liked Fabulous clean pod with everything we needed. The views were amazing day and night! Farmer Kev was very welcoming and informative on the little tour of his farm animals and really enjoyed sharing his knowledge. The amount of bird song was abundant and watching the animals from the pod with their young was lovely, especially the goats. Fire pit looked great and wood was already at the pod, but we were too shattered to stay up and light it!
The beach at Seascale was lovely with a great cafe, chippy, ice creams etc and a clean sand a land sea for paddling.
We will definitely return with the grandkids.
Oh and the fresh eggs are delicious!
