Liked We received a nice friendly welcome and the pitches are nice and spacious. Lovely clean heated toilet/shower block and a little shop for essentials. Nicely location between Ashbourne and Matlock.
Disliked The site is on a slope so you will need to bring some blocks to level up the caravan/motor home.

Liked Nicely laid out touring pitches and the toilet / shower facilities are great. My wife found the washing machine to be good value at €3.50. We also found this site to be nice and quiet at night however we only stayed for three nights. We used the site to explore Rimini and Tavullia so did not have the time to explore the rest of the site.
Disliked The entrance and exit to the site is quit steep and some of the pitches require tight turns when towing a caravan. When we left the site the road was perfectly dry but my vehicle struggled to get up the hill due to wheel spin.

From the manager: Dear Mr. Dale, Thank you for your good review! We’re glad you enjoyed our well-laid-out pitches, facilities, and the peaceful atmosphere. It’s great to hear the washing machine was good value and that our location was convenient for exploring Rimini and Tavullia. We understand your concern about the entrance—being in a hillside location, some slopes can be challenging with the caravan. We hope to welcome you again for a longer stay!

Liked The site has plenty of spacious pitches and slightly better than average facilities. The toilet/shower block was always clean with soap and toilet paper provided. Free hot showers and hot water at the sinks have unfortunately become a bonus after visiting Sicily. There is very good access to the beach from the site. And it is also ideally situated to explore the numerous ancient ruins and seaside towns that are all within a two hour radius. ( Tip - use the toll road to travel north. For €2:30 you will save time and avoids badly surfaced narrow and congested roads ).
Disliked There were only two things that we disliked. The first was an absence of toilet seats. Why not fit them as standard as it’s far more comfortable. And secondly we tried on a number of occasions to use the washing machine. Unfortunately it was constantly being used by maid.

Liked This is a quiet site with nicely spaced out flat grass pitches between the trees. The toilet/shower block is good and clean with toilet seats and free hot showers. There is hot water at the sinks and many water taps around the camp. The gates to the site are closed at night making the camp secure and the owner Davide speaks English and is friendly, welcoming and very helpful.
Disliked My wife and I can not think of anything that we disliked. We stayed in February and so the on site shop and restaurant were not open. This was not a problem for us but it maybe an inconvenience for others. Also please do not follow your satnav if it sends you along the road running parallel to the beach at the bottom of the site. It is NOT passable in a vehicle!

Liked We received a friendly welcome from the staff who were helpful. Quiet site with good clean toilet/shower block. Hot water at the sinks with plugs included and toilet seats. Hot showers are 50 cents for five minutes. There is a washing machine to be used for three euros.
Disliked The road surface to the site is badly broken up in places that floods when it rains heavily. The road around the site is narrow and twisty making towing a caravan onto some of the pitches difficult.

Liked We were there in February so there weren’t many people on site. This gave us a lot of space to site the caravan in a good position, with a lot of space around us. The beach is accessible from the bottom of the camp site. The showers are nice and hot if you buy a card at 50 cents for three and a half minutes. The valley of the temples is only 20 minutes away by car.
Disliked Access to the site is very steep and the road surface is quite slippery. This caused my vehicle to wheel spin when towing the caravan. It is more extreme when leaving the site. The toilet/shower block is basic with only cold water at the sinks. The outside sinks didn’t look like they had been cleaned for a while. The local towns and surrounding areas feel run down and tired and the road surface is badly paved.

Liked The owner speaks English which makes communication easy. He is very friendly and welcoming. The site is only 30 mins from the ferry making it an ideal stop off to explore Palermo. The facilities are basic but clean and the electricity is a generous 16 amps 4 kilowatt hours.
Disliked The roads to the site are very rough and narrow. The site is situated right in the middle of built up urban area. The wash basins are cold water only and the showers require tokens at 50 cents each for 5 mins. 2 tokens are required for a relaxing shower.

Liked Friendly staff that could speak English. Excellent toilet and shower facilities. Very close to Calais making it an ideal stop off before or after crossing the channel.
Disliked It’s a small site so book early during peak months. We stayed with them in January and I was able to book on the day.

Liked Very good bathroom facilities and a lovely warm welcome upon arrival.
Disliked It’s an open site based on a ring of tarmac without anything to separate the pitches. Privacy would be enhanced with trees and bushes. They are introducing a £5 a day electricity card that is included in the daily price that you will have to top up in the office if you run out.

From the manager: Thank you very much for your review, Darren. We are glad that you enjoyed the bathroom facilities. The part of our job that we enjoy the most is meeting you guys and we are here to make your stay as enjoyable as we can. 😁 We are sorry that you didn't feel that you had enough privacy, we try our best to pitch you all in suitable places. Some of our hardstanding pitches are slightly more out the way than others, but as we have been so busy lately, we have not had a huge amount of choice. We do our very best to honour requests if possible and if space allows. We like to have plenty of room for the children to play in the summer and so don't feel that separating the pitches with bushes would be appropriate at this time. We are currently trialling electric meters but only for seasonal or long stay customers now, this may change in the future. As Im sure you understand, the price of electric has rocketed sky high and so something has to be introduced or the park would no longer be viable. As you stated, £5 worth of electric per day is included with the price of your pitch, any over that can be purchased from the reception. This is something that we know other parks are also introducing and unfortunately may become the norm. The Oak View Team

Liked Warm welcome from English expats eliminating the need for our limited French. They are open all year round and supply 16 amp electrics. The toilet/shower facilities are good and we found that the high walled gravel court yard was very welcome during the storm.
Disliked We only stayed for one night in March. It had been raining for a couple of days so the grass pitches were waterlogged. The rain also made the dirt road to the gravel court yard muddy.

Liked It’s a very quiet location with lovely walks along the lake.
Disliked The site was locked when we arrived. After ringing the site telephone number a lady arrived after 15 minutes to let us in. She did not speak English but with the help of Google she was able to give us the information that we needed. There is only one toilet and shower for the men and the same again for the women for the whole camp. There is only enough hot water for one five minute shower. Everyone else will have to wait a couple of hours for the water to heat up again.

Liked It’s a beautiful farm setting with lots of space to spread out amount the olive trees. Mark and Annalouisa are warm and welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. They will go out of their way to help you if you have a problem.
Disliked The short dirt track leading into the farm should be negotiated slowly when towing the caravan and it’s helpful to take a wide swing into the entrance of the property as it is a little tight for long vehicles.
