Excellent site

Aug 2026

Liked Choosing our own pitch, the welcome table, the early check in, the planting, the facilities, grass length, level field, noise levels. We walked to Morton in Marsh via the public footpath which took about 40 mins and came back via the lane which was faster (not too busy). There were cows on the way but they ignored us. We also did the dog walk on the site which is a loop of a field and a fenced area. Could do with better signposting please. It’s a good site for groups as you can pitch in the middle as you wish.

Disliked There was a bit of a smell downwind of the loos at times, but the facilities themselves were possibly the best I’ve seen at any campsite! They even had sinks for children to wash their hands.

From the manager: Thank you so much for such a detailed review, Jane! We're really pleased you enjoyed so many aspects of your stay, from choosing your own pitch and the early check-in to the welcome table, planting, level field and relaxed atmosphere. It’s especially good to hear that the freedom to pitch in the middle of the field worked well for your group, we do find that flexibility is particularly useful for families and groups wanting to stay together. It sounds like you made good use of the local walks too. The public footpath into Moreton-in-Marsh is a lovely route, and the lane provides a quicker alternative on the return. We're glad the cows were well behaved! 😊 Thank you for your comments about the dog walking area and signposting. We agree that clearer signs would make it easier for guests to find and follow the route, and it's something we'll look at improving. We're also really pleased that you thought our facilities were possibly the best you've seen at any campsite! We put a huge amount of effort into keeping them clean and well maintained, and the children's sinks are one of those little details we specifically included with families in mind. Thank you for mentioning the occasional smell around the facilities. We do appreciate the feedback and will keep an eye on it, particularly on warmer days when the wind is in that direction. These things can occasionally be affected by weather and wind conditions, but we’ll certainly see if there’s anything we can do to improve it. We’re really pleased that the facilities themselves still made such a positive impression. Thank you again for taking the time to share such a helpful review and for recommending us. We really appreciate it and hope to welcome you and your family back to Pebbly Barn Farm again. Warm regards, John & the Pebbly Barn Farm Team

Small, quiet site, nice toilets and…

May 2026

Liked Small, quiet site, nice toilets and other facilities, apple tree to sit under, nice walk to the sea and town.

Disliked There were a few mosquitoes around and we got bitten a few times. I called when we arrived, as instructed, but didn’t get a call back. It took us a while to find the pitch signs in the grass.

From the manager: Hi Jane Thank you for your review we are really happy to hear that you had a pleasant stay. We don't require a phone call when campers arrive as the arrivals board has the pitch information you need (we do adopt a generally hands off approach to campers with the exception of the twice daily toilet cleaning) We are however on call should you require anything so not quite sure what happened there, apologies for that! We will look into the visibility of the pitch signs to see if there is anything that we can do to improve this. Mosquitoes are the pits aren't they, we recommend citronella camping candles to try to keep them at bay, due to the nature of our orchard we can be prone to insects. We would love to welcome you back in the future.

Please keep the bikes!

May 2025

Liked We loved borrowing the bikes. So handy for making the trip to the loos when you’re camped at the opposite end. We liked the freezer. The relaxed feel. The flat ground and short grass. The fire pits. The space. The toys. The free pitch and put. The ping pong. The tennis area. The clean and tidy loos. The walk to the pub. The pub. The walks around the hills.

Disliked There was a bit a traffic noise but only a problem if that kind of thing bothers you. It was a bit untidy looking in places.

A good basic site.

Aug 2024

Liked It was quiet and dark even though it wasn’t far away from a main road. Vegetarian cafe on site with WiFi and very nice cakes. Washing up area with hot water. Quantity of wood given for the fire. Friendly welcome. Nice pub in walking distance (14 mins). River looked nice for a swim. Geese flying over first thing in the morning and last thing at night. We visited The Time Machine which is small but worthwhile if you are a Dr Who, Red Dwarf or Star Wars fan.

Disliked The camping signs were a little hard to spot. Not clear where to park your car or where to drive for unloading the tent. No one there when we arrived, we eventually found some instructions behind an unmarked door next to the shower. WiFi to the tent is mentioned online and there was a signal but the password was not advertised. Not clear where it is possible to swim in the river, lots of signs saying no swimming. We eventually found a good spot 9 minutes walk away, not far from the reservoir. Not clear when we booked the firewood if a fire pit would be supplied or not. Found out that you can bring your own as long as it’s raised off the ground or there is a patch in the middle of the field that you can use for a fire on the ground. The path along the river to The Fox Inn was a bit overgrown but probably passable with trousers.

Loads of space, excellent beer and food and a river to play in.

Sep 2023

Liked Although it was a sunny weekend in August and the tap room was heaving, there were only 2 tents in the river camping field and 2 tents by the showers. There are lots of compost toilets dotted around so we had our own private toilet. The compost toilets weren’t smelly. My children enjoyed swimming and paddling in the river. There were canoes there that the staff said campers do borrow sometimes. Most people were camping in the Apple orchard, but there was still plenty of space left. No one was camping in the damson orchard. Ps, although the tap room was heaving, there were tables left and plenty of people serving at the bar. There was live music both nights. Stunning views from the river camping field. We had a choice of pizzas or burgers the first night and both were excellent. There were waffles both nights. It was pizzas, brisket or nachos the second night. Hot showers for free.

Disliked No O2 phone signal, but there was unsecured Wi-Fi at the tap room. Wasps! I think we must have pitched up near a wasps nest and they were obsessed with the tent!

Expensive, but we would like to come back

Aug 2022

Liked Outdoor games, indoor games, hammocks, swings, lighting, communal fire pits, pool, sun deck, paddling pool, water slide, bar, drinks were a reasonable price, cocktails, wood burner, decor, microwave, freezer, toaster, washing up facilities, apple tree shower, compost toilets, views, walks, pubs, farm dog, chickens, dogs are allowed off leads, friendly staff, very nice food, managed to find somewhere reasonably flat to pitch tent, good view of Milky Way at night, there was plenty of space between pitches, grass a reasonable length and only muddy in one patch, good free Wi-Fi.

Disliked Not well signposted, not clear where to go when you get there, very expensive per night, fire pit is very expensive, the charge for the hot tub is not mentioned on the website and is very expensive, ordered food at 5:45 but couldn’t eat until 7:45, pool was a bit cool.
