Book yourselves into Hu Firenze Certosa Camping in Town and you’ll be in a fabulously spacious and scenic spot surrounded by greenery on a hillside about four miles from the city centre. This chilled-out site is in a very strategic position for dipping in and out of Florence – you can drive into the city centre in around 15 minutes, but it's likely to be much easier to hop on the bus from a stop a few minutes’ walk away and save yourself the hassle of parking. Take in all the amazing art, architecture, food and city vibes… and then when it’s time to relax, head back into the hills and enjoy an evening soaking up the peace and the views. After a long day of sightseeing you'll no doubt be pleased to have the chance to take a nice dip in the outdoor pool, pick up a cool beer at the bar and then settle down at the restaurant for a good meal on the cool covered terrace. Breakfast is served at the restaurant too, and the site has a well-stocked mini market for self-catering supplies. Florence may be the big draw here, but you could easily use this place as a base for other Tuscany trips too, heading out into the Chianti hills for walks and wine tasting or setting off for a stroll around Siena.

Liked Emplacement agréable, proximité de la ville, cadre bien dans la nature, belle piscine, restaurant sympathique

Disliked Le supplément de 1w euros demandé pour le chien alors qu'il était compris déjà sur la réservation. Initialement on m'a demandé 74 euros, j'ai dit que ça correspondait pas avec la réservation ou c'est indiqué 47 + 2 taxes de séjour à 3 euros, ce qui donne 53 euros. La réceptionniste a finalement dit qu'il fallait payer 65, soit le prix de la réservation après déduction de l'acompte déjà réglé, augmenté du supplément pour le chien. J'ai renoncé à insister d'avantage pour les 12 euros mais estime que ce n'est pas correct.

Liked Pool was lovely.
Food in restaurant was nice.
Very well stocked shop.
Staff friendly.
Site area was nice.

Disliked Service in restaurant shocking! Waiting 30 mins to get a drink/place an order for food.
No way to get a dessert... you'd be Waiting all night! Or a 2nd drink...so make it last!!
People left without having their order taken as it was so long and another family had to re order as their meals got forgotten!
Good was nice once we eventually got it!!

One day the cleaning staff were having a full on fight outside the chalet. Not a good vibe.

Liked Le camping est en hauteur donc beaux paysages, il est assez éloigné du centre de Florence mais est assez bien desservi en bus et le camping proposé même une navette pour rallier le centre de 6€ aller/retour. Il y a des machines à laver, sanitaires et endroits vaisselles très propre. Très bonne piscine.

Disliked Les sanitaires sont assez loin des places de tentes ainsi il faut marcher et grimper, de plus les cabines de douches ne sont pas complètement opaque.

Liked Our stay at this place was very enjoyable. The campsite was clean, well-maintained, and surrounded by plenty of flowers and greenery. It is located on a hill and has excellent access thanks to the nearby motorway. The best part was that, despite the motorway being so close, there was absolutely no noise.
The bathrooms were always clean, and during our stay, when the temperatures were very high, the swimming pool was a real blessing.
I highly recommend this campsite and will definitely come back. Florence and the surrounding area are truly worth exploring.

To Florence first, of course… the travel options here are so handy that you can easily plan to do several smaller trips or one full-on day out, depending on how long you’re staying for. The list of things to see and do is practically endless, but should certainly include things like the Uffizi Galleries, the Accademia Gallery (home of Michelangelo's David), the Ponte Vecchio, the Duomo… and plenty of stops for tasty food and drinks. Speaking of drinks, you’ll be handily close to the Chianti wineries here, so spending a day or two exploring the area, stopping in at vineyards, taking rural walks and visiting pretty villages like Greve in Chianti (half an hour’s drive) and Castellina in Chianti (35 minutes). For an insight into local food as well, tour the Museo della Pasta del Pastificio Morelli (40 minutes). A little further afield but worth the trip are other Tuscany towns and cities including Pistoia (35 minutes), Siena (50 minutes) and Arezzo (50 minutes). The intriguing Museum of Glass in Empoli (35 minutes) is worth a visit too.
