Looking for family-friendly Ardennes camping holidays with plenty to do outdoors? You’ve hit the jackpot at Arden Parks Durbuy, a welcoming site on the outskirts of Durbuy in the Belgian Ardennes. The spacious grass pitches are partially shaded by trees at this peaceful rural spot… just the ticket for relaxing and thoroughly recharging your batteries.
Quiet it may be, but that doesn’t mean there’s nothing to do. You can kayak along the Ourthe River, which is five minutes’ walk from the pitches, and the park is also the springboard to hiking and mountain-biking adventure in glorious hilly landscapes.
If it’s gastronomy you’re after, the centre of medieval Durbuy (10 minutes’ drive) has much to offer – it’s a smorgasbord of speciality stores selling craft beers, charcuterie and regional cheeses – and when you fancy a night off from cooking on the barbecue, just mosey into town to one of the gourmet bistros or brasseries.
Back on site, tip-top facilities include spotless showers and loos in the modern facilities block; electricity and water are available at the pitches.

Local attractions
When you’re getting to know this leafy corner of the Ardennes, start your explorations in the maze of cobbled streets in historic Durbuy (10 minutes’ drive). Here you can tour the fabulously frothy interior of the Château de Durbuy, check out contemporary art in the half-timbered Halle aux Blés, and admire the skills of the gardeners who created hundreds of plant sculptures at the Topiary Park.
There’s a 50-minute hike up to Durbuy Belvedere for views back over the pretty village. If that’s a hit with the kids, try them on the trail up to the landmark Rocher de Falize rock formation (50 minutes’ drive) for vistas down the Warche valley.
Kids looking for more exciting action? Then it’s off to the zipwires, rope courses and escape rooms at Adventure Valley Durbuy (five minutes) for you. Families can lose each other (and meet up again, of course) in the enormous corn maze at The Labyrinth of Barvaux-sur-Ourthe (10 minutes), or try kayaking, paddleboarding and canoeing on the meandering Ourthe River (five minutes).
