  • Serviced campervan pitches in the grounds of a Pembrokeshire pub
  • Folly Farm three minutes' drive; 10 minutes to Tenby or Saundersfoot
  • Family-run pub with beer garden and home-cooked meals
Finding a campervan pitch in the grounds of a pub is always a good idea for ease of access to an evening meal and a drink or two at the end of the day. But it gets even better at The Begelly Arms, where you’ll get not just that but also a handy location that puts you within just a short drive of some of Pembrokeshire’s top attractions (beaches, castles and family attractions among them). This family-run pub is about half a mile from Kilgetty, in a very convenient spot close to both the A477 and A478 for easy journeys to all sorts of places – Folly Farm is pretty much just round the corner, and the beaches of Tenby, Amroth and Saundersfoot are about 10 minutes’ drive away, as are places like Carew Castle and Oakwood Theme Park. That means filling your days should be straightforward – and so should catering for your evenings, as the pub has a restaurant serving up home-cooked meals (using local seasonal produce where possible). There’s a good range of drinks, too – including an impressive range of whiskies – which you can sip in the cosy interior or out in the beer garden on sunnier days. You’ll be pitching up in the pub’s car park, which has a small number of dog-friendly hardstanding pitches with grass areas and services including water, waste and electricity. You’ll have access to the pub’s toilets during opening hours, and you can also buy breakfasts in the restaurant if you like. Dogs are welcome on site, but not inside the pub please.

FHU cement/asphalt RV campsite

Liked We were pleasantly surprised, for a pub pitch it was very clearly marked out and well maintained. It was lovely, we had our own section of the car park, with artificial grass area and picnic table to the side of each pitch. It was just perfect for us and the two dogs to enjoy a chilled stop over, few beers and some home cooked food. Staff were friendly and helpful, they brought our food out to the pitch. Toilets were clean and tidy and left open all night. We already knew there were no showers available when we booked and wasn't an issue. We would recommend.

FHU cement/asphalt RV campsite

Liked Nice fully serviced pitch. Easy access to saundersfoot and Tenby. Bus stop within few minutes walk and easy cycling/walking route.
Good place to stay for couple of nights.

Disliked Just to be aware - you need to take your rubbish with you, the owner explained it’s just part of their license.
Also the pub itself doesn’t allow dogs indoors, you can however have them in the beer garden.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thanks for the review appreciated in relation to your comment on rubbish as I explained to you we are a CAMpRA authorised site and they have a policy of leave no trace in their guidelines, but also our local authority only does recycling so we would need to have 3 bins for camper vans and them to sort, and there would be a cost to emptying them to us as a commercial site. which is why camper vans are £17.50 to stay the night and not £45 we are a registered aire for campers and the policy is LEAVE NO TRACE

Liked Nice flat pitches.own water .table and chairs.
Access to toilet facilities 24 hrs
Excellent value breakfast

Disliked Evening meals not good.
Had lamb shank overcooked
Toilets not cleaned on first day

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thanks for the review appreciated. I can confirm our toilets are cleaned on a regular basis, in relation to the Lamb Shank mentioned. I made enquiries to the staff who ask in our restaurant to all customer if everything was OK and there is no record of any complaint from yourselves. As i said we ask our customers. so why leave it until a review to tell us after the problem SOME CUSTOMERS NEED TO CHAT WHEN THEY ARE HERE IT'S NOT HARD

FHU cement/asphalt RV campsite

Liked Pitches great. Clean easy access very flat. Electric hookup, water and a picnic table readily available. Toilets inside building open 24 hours

Disliked Supposedly dog friendly but no dogs allowed inside the Hotel so no option of having a drink or food. No litter bins provided.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Hi and thanks for the review appreciate the comments on the services. In relation to dogs we allow on the site and at the pub outside we are primarily a food premises and therefore dogs are not allowed where food is prepped and served. You could have chosen to eat outside or indeed have a take away meal to eat in your camper. We do not provide litter bins as per the licence we have from CAMpRA where their guidelines state campers should take their rubbish home and leave no trace. Our local council also has a policy of recycling and we would have to have several separate bins for that which would increase costs for campers. so we made the choice as per the guidelines take your rubbish home with you. there is a local site not far from us with the facilities you are requesting and they charge £42 a night we charge £17.50 currently

FHU cement/asphalt RV campsite

Liked I was apprehensive about staying at a pub as a solo traveller but need not have been. It had been thoughtfully planned out with four beautifully paved pitches with water, EHU, picnic table and brolly and a beautiful paved pitch complete with planters full of summer flowers. The best two nights’ sleep I’ve had on my month long trip. I chose it because it was near a bus stop with a regular (hourly) service to Saundersfoot and Tenby in one direction and Haverfordwest in the other direction. Very good value especially compared with some other sites. The only reason for not giving a 10 score is because there is no showering facility, dish washing area, nor, curiously enough, anywhere to put rubbish, although, to be fair, I did know about all of these except the lack of rubbish disposal when I signed up. I was very very pleasantly surprised.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for your review and comments very much appreciated. in relation to your query regarding showers etc and also rubbish disposal,
We are registered as a camper Aire and the CAMpRA guidelines say campers are and should be self sufficient with showers and toilets, we are not a camp site but a stopover with limited services. In relation to rubbish again CAMpRA Guidelines as follows:
CAMpRA guidelines for motorhome "aires" (short stay, self-contained parking areas) focus on responsible use and minimal impact. Key aspects include requiring self-contained vehicles, limiting stay duration (typically 48 hours with no return within 7 days), maintaining spacing between vehicles, and promoting "leave no trace" practices.
Key CAMpRA Guidelines:
Self-Contained Vehicles Only:
Aires are designed for motorhomes with onboard facilities, including toilets and waste water tanks.
Limited Stay Duration:
A maximum stay of 48 hours is common, with a mandatory "no return" period (e.g., 7 days) to prevent long-term parking.
Spacing Requirements:
Vehicles should be parked with a minimum distance between them (e.g., 3 meters) to allow for safe access and prevent overcrowding.
"Leave No Trace" Principle:
This emphasizes responsible behavior, including proper disposal of waste and avoiding any actions that could damage the site or surrounding environment.
No Camping Behavior:
Aires are intended for overnight parking, not for setting up awnings, chairs, or engaging in camping activities outside the vehicle.
Specific Restrictions:
Some aires may have additional rules, such as restrictions on the use of BBQs, awnings, or external solar panels.
Responsible Waste Disposal:
Motorhome owners are expected to dispose of chemical toilet waste and grey water responsibly, following guidelines to prevent pollution.
