Primitive grass campervan campsite

Liked Views, chilled vibe, friendly helpful owner, large pitches with plenty of space between them.

Disliked Another campers dog not kept on a lead which was disrespectful to other campers and is just lazy dog ownership. No fault of the campsite owners though.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked The site has large spaced out pitches which you could choose on arrival.
The couple who run it are very friendly and drove through the site twice during our one night stay in the early evening offering fire pits, burgers to buy etc and checking all was well.
Wonderful view and lovely vibe. Great play area with ride ons which was a god send for my two toddlers.

Disliked Nothing it was a great site.

Primitive grass campervan campsite

Liked This place is fantastic, easy to find with the great instructions provided. The pitch was big enough with plenty of space between pitches. It was nice that you could choose your own pitch. We had 11 which I think is one of the best. Site facilities simple & perfect for a more of a simple camp without all the mod cons! Chloe was very welcoming and always replied straight away to any of my queries . We purchased the sausages & burgers which were fantastic! I am definitely returning as this site is situated nicely between Monmouth, Skenfrith castle ( perfect place for a dip) and Abergavenny. Thank Chloe & Ben for the perfect stay.

Local attractions

Hikers can try the Three Castles Walk – it starts right outside the farm gate. It leads to White Castle (10 minutes’ drive), where you can do tours and tastings at the vineyard; Grosmont Castle (15 minutes, stop off at the village pub); and National Trust - Skenfrith Castle (five minutes), where you can cool off with a bit of wild swimming. There’s golf, fishing and horse riding within a 15-minute drive, while the Forest of Dean has lots of woodland walks for the whole family, including the magical Sculpture Trail with glittering stained-glass artworks tucked among the trees. And of course in the Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (both 20 minutes), you can get out on the river in kayaks, canoes and coracles at Symonds Yat (25 minutes). Any rainy days are taken care of with visits to the indoor Wye Valley Butterfly Zoo (20 minutes), a family swim at Monmouth Leisure Centre (15 minutes) or an outing to the cinema in Abergavenny (20 minutes).
