  • Spacious and peaceful pitches on a traditional Welsh border farm
  • Hereford and Abergavenny within a half-hour drive
  • Less than a mile from the castle and pub in Grosmont; dogs welcome
The lovely Welsh Marches area, on the border between Wales and England, makes a great choice for an outdoor break, giving you access to all the wonderful attractions on both sides of the divide. And it’s right here, almost on the border and just outside the village of Grosmont, that Cupid’s Camping sits. This small-scale site is part of a traditional working farm, and it’s got spacious pitches that look out over the surrounding hills and the nearby River Monnow. Book a break here and you’ll be in for gorgeous views by day, often-spectacular sunsets and big star-filled skies by night – all with plenty of peace, quiet and fresh air as standard. That scenery is lovely to look at – and it also offers up plenty of options for activities, including walks, bike rides and more adventurous days of paintballing and downhill mountain biking. Garden wanders, vineyard visits and castle tours can also be on the menu – with the closest of the latter less than a mile away at Grosmont Castle. Grosmont is also home to the nearest pub for meals and drinks, and there are a few more scattered around the area, along with some small shops. For more choice on both the eating and shopping fronts, head to Hereford or Abergavenny (both around 25 minutes’ drive).

What customers say

Spectacular views & spacious pitches draw praise, with owners being welcoming. New, clean facilities have great hot water. Enjoy the peaceful vibe & pick your own spot. Scenic river walks are a hit for paddling. Peak times can mean queues for the 2 toilets/showers; bins sometimes overflow. River walk is steep.

Primitive grass tent or RV campsite

Liked We enjoyed our one night stop over with lovely views, short walk to a local pub and really nice showers.

From the manager: Thank you for your review, Rachel. We’re really pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay, the lovely views, our location close to the local pub and, especially, our shower facilities. It’s also great to see that you would recommend us to friends and would visit again.

We were a little surprised by the 6/10 score given all of your comments were positive and there was nothing noted that you disliked. As a small family-run campsite, reviews and ratings make a big difference to us, so we would have genuinely appreciated knowing if there was anything that fell short of your expectations.

We’re glad you enjoyed your overnight stay and would be very happy to welcome you back again in the future.

Primitive grass tent or RV campsite

Liked Views , local pub was great . Great value for money .

Disliked Only 2 Toilets and 2 showers for the whole site . They were obviously new and they’re extremely nice but by the time the evening came they were in a mess . They were though cleaned the next morning but just not enough of them

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We’re really pleased you enjoyed the views, the local pub and felt that your stay offered great value for money. It’s also lovely to see that you would recommend us and visit again.

We appreciate your comments regarding the toilet and shower facilities. As a small pop-up campsite, we currently provide two toilets and two showers, and we do make every effort to keep them clean and well maintained throughout our opening periods. Unfortunately, with shared facilities, their condition can change very quickly between checks when the site is busy.

We’re pleased you noticed that they had been thoroughly cleaned again the following morning, and we will certainly take your feedback on board regarding additional checks during busy evenings.

Thank you again for staying with us, and we hope to welcome you back in the future.

Liked Open pitches, clean facilities, relaxed atmosphere, short walk to the river

Disliked Our only issue was keeping food cool - we had 2 flat car batteries keeping a mini fridge going so somewhere to re-freeze ice packs would be really helpful
