  • Spacious and peaceful pitches on a traditional Welsh border farm
  • Hereford and Abergavenny within a half-hour drive
  • Less than a mile from the castle and pub in Grosmont; dogs welcome
The lovely Welsh Marches area, on the border between Wales and England, makes a great choice for an outdoor break, giving you access to all the wonderful attractions on both sides of the divide. And it’s right here, almost on the border and just outside the village of Grosmont, that Cupid’s Camping sits. This small-scale site is part of a traditional working farm, and it’s got spacious pitches that look out over the surrounding hills and the nearby River Monnow. Book a break here and you’ll be in for gorgeous views by day, often-spectacular sunsets and big star-filled skies by night – all with plenty of peace, quiet and fresh air as standard. That scenery is lovely to look at – and it also offers up plenty of options for activities, including walks, bike rides and more adventurous days of paintballing and downhill mountain biking. Garden wanders, vineyard visits and castle tours can also be on the menu – with the closest of the latter less than a mile away at Grosmont Castle. Grosmont is also home to the nearest pub for meals and drinks, and there are a few more scattered around the area, along with some small shops. For more choice on both the eating and shopping fronts, head to Hereford or Abergavenny (both around 25 minutes’ drive).

What customers say

Awesome views, chilled vibe, and super friendly hosts. Spacious spots, clean modern amenities (showers/toilets are ace!). River walk's a winner. A few noted toilets can get busy peak times, and it can get a bit muddy. Highly recommend for value and beauty!

Liked Really nice site with stunning views and the owner and her children are exceptionally friendly. The facilities were always clean and well stocked. We loved the showers, having the separate room within the cubicle as such for drying and dressing is something we love and not many sites have this. I’m not going to put it as a dislike but more of a if we could recommend something - maybe a couple more toilets as there is only two there’s queues (specially first thing in the morning when you end up busting) and maybe some gravel or something just in the entrance part as it did get quick muddy and slippery once it had rained and cars/vans had driven over it.

Liked We only had time to stay for 1 night but it was perfect for what we wanted. You could see a lot of thought had been put into the facility block, especially the separate shower changing area and the placement of the chemical waste. We over shot the entrance and ended up down at the farm, the entrance is right next to the road. I would definitely book again!

Liked Breath taking views and walks to the river, rustic camping with the best showers and toilet facilities I've used on a campsite. They are the 5 star equivalent and very clean.
Kerri was super friendly and helpful. My kids loved the wildlife and chasing the millions of pheasants (before we read the sign, sorry!). The river was great for a paddle and the steps down made it easier with a toddler and newborn. This is excellent value and we will be staying again.
If you want rustic with first class facilities and stunning views and walks this place is for you!

Disliked Absolutely nothing, although our visit maybe to cause of a few noise complaints (again sorry).
