What customers say

This well-kept, clean, adult-only site boasts an excellent location for coastal walks & beach access. Guests rave about the friendly welcome, great facilities, & on-site bar/cafe. Peaceful for most, though a few noted tight pitches & occasional facility limits during peak times. Highly recommended!

Primitive grass tent, campervan or trailer tent campsite

Liked Roomy pitch mostly flat

Disliked Lack of toilet showers only two toilets for whole site and only two showers
Not allowed to use own BBQ have to rent a firepit and it didn’t cook food very well

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for your review, however, it is incorrect to state 2 toilets and 2 showers on site, we have 5 toilets and 5 showers.
When you booked our campsite it is clearly stated only clients own GAS BBQ’s are permitted on site the fire pits we provide delivered to your pitch are designed to meet safety standards,

Brook Paddock primitive grass tent, campervan or trailer tent campsite

Liked Fantastic location, very clean facilities (toilets, showers and washing up area). Staff were very friendly and helpful, bar and breakfasts available every day which we were not expecting. Very quiet site, nicely spaced pitches so felt quite private, didn’t feel on top of each other on tent pitches.

Local attractions

Coastal walks, beaches, museums, castles and outdoor activities are all around locally to get stuck into. If you want to stick to the Glamorgan Heritage Coast, it runs for 14 miles from Porthcawl to Aberthawl and has some highly scenic walks as well as even more scenic horse rides to be had on its beaches. Active types can also try their luck at TeamSport Go Karting Cardiff (55 minutes), show their true colours at Taskforce Paintball Games (20 minutes) and have a few rounds of Welsh golf; there are a couple of courses within half an hour by car. Head for Ogmore (15 minutes) or Fonmon (20 minutes) castles to swot up on some Welsh history, and add to your knowledge with a trip to St Fagans National History Museum in Cardiff (40 minutes). The National Trust’s Dyffryn Gardens (half an hour) make an interesting day out for green-fingered types.
