General

  • Self-catering family-run site right on the Isle of Anglesey coast
  • Haven for walkers: Isle of Anglesey Coastal Path crosses the site
  • A 30-minute drive from Bangor and 45 from Holyhead

It’s back to basics at Arfor Camping, a self-catering site in the coastal village of Moelfre on the Isle of Anglesey, where nature, the ocean and your own two feet are your only companions.

Arfor is well-placed for rambling: the 130-mile-long Isle of Anglesey Coastal Path passes directly by the site, running around the island’s entire coastline and passing some of Anglesey’s most spectacular spots. Keep a watchful eye out for peregrine falcons, choughs, terns and seals on your travels; on a calm summer’s day, you may even spy porpoises swimming by in the cove...

Rest your weary legs back on the two-acre green-field site, where you can kick up your feet and relax with views over the sea to Puffin Island and the Great Orme at Llandudno. The site has running water in the accommodation field, and a portaloo is available for guests' use.

When it comes time to carb-load for the next day – or if, you know, you’re just hungry – Moelfre village centre is a few minutes' stroll away. Pull up a pew in the pub or café for food or pick up a takeaway from the chip shop, then treat yourself to an ice cream from the local parlour. You deserve it…

The site has running water in the accommodation field.

We were amazed with the location of the campsite, it really is beautiful and to wake up to such a view was just incredible. The site was clean and tidy, there were no issues from other campers. We also appreciated the text on the morning of our arrival with directions and a contact number (which came in handy when we were unsure of the lane to drive down!).

    Disliked:

The toilets..... I totally accept this is wild camping, and from the reviews it does seem as though the toilets are usually okay. They were clean to look at, however the smell was something else. It was bank holiday weekend so perhaps down to no one being available to empty them.... but the smell really was unbearable.

Great location and views. Back to basics camping. No electricity or washing facilities but clean Toilet. Short walk to the village on the right. To the left walk along the coast for 1.5 miles there’s a large sandy beach with a tepee tent - live music on, fresh pizzas, bar and cafe. Excellent location.

Excellent view, simple and straightforward, does what it says in the tin.
Pub, chippy, Ice cream parlour and shop all within 5 mins walk. Anglesey coastal path is all that there is between you and the sea. Toilets are clean, functional and smell much nicer than any public ones we visited!

    Excellent value!

Beautiful views ! Friendly helpful owners , right next to lifeboat station and visitor centre, this is a wild camp site with unrivalled views of the sea and north wales. Short walk along coastal path to the pretty town of Molfre. Very reasonably priced , basic amenities but it does state that in when you book ( there is a loo and running water / waste disposal for general camp waste.
