Pitch
Five well spaced pitches for small secluded site

  • Small dog-friendly site in a gorgeous rural setting in Anglesey
  • A 10-minute drive from Traeth Benllech; half an hour from Snowdonia
  • Cycle to a handful of local beaches and return to set up a barbecue
Designed by a keen caravanner, and with fellow caravan and mobile home users in mind, Swallow Bach couldn’t be a more convenient spot to set up base in Anglesey. The spacious pitches are in a gorgeous rural setting, just 10 minutes’ drive from the nearest beach and half an hour’s drive from Snowdonia National Park. Each pitch (which measures eight by seven metres) is on level hardstanding and has its own water and electricity supply. They also have their own soak away, so you won’t need to fill up the aqua roll or carpet off the grey water – a relief for many. The flat pitches have large surfaces, making it easy to park up. There’s also easy access to the site, as it has an extra-large gate. Plus, the owner’s always on hand to help you out with anything if you need. There’s no toilet or shower block, but there is an Elsan waste point. Anglesey’s gorgeous beaches will probably be one of your main focuses, of course. Handily, there are a handful within cycling distance. Traeth Benllech, 10 minutes’ drive away, and Traeth Lligwy, 20 minutes’ drive away, are two lovely spots. Moelfre (15 minutes’ drive) has yet another. The popular tourist town has Iron Age huts, views of Snowdonia and the Great Orne, and a lifeboat centre. Places like Niwbwrch are no more than 20 minutes’ drive away too – then, get back to the peaceful, friendly site to set up a barbecue or simply melt back into the peaceful atmosphere.

What customers say

This quiet, peaceful campsite offers a "back to nature" experience with fully serviced pitches. Guests praise its tranquil rural location, ideal for exploring Anglesey, and great value. The lack of toilet/shower facilities, though advertised, was noted by some. Grass and wet weather access issues are being addressed by the owner.

FHU cement/asphalt and grass campsite

Liked Quiet location, really good value for money. I was only looking a place with electricity and water to park the caravan.

Disliked It was a bit difficult to find the place, even with the owner instructions.

From the manager: Thanks guys. It is CNN known as a well kept secret and I like it like that. Great value in a quiet secluded location.

A very basic down to earth site, which suited us fine for a few days

FHU cement/asphalt and grass campsite

Liked Locality is great, having power and water at the pitch is fab. The chemical waste disposal point is exactly as expected and has a decent rinse water pressure.

The site is very basic as described, and suited us fine for 4 nights, we were lucky to get a hard standing pitch with gravel almost to the pitch, as other pitches need to be accessed via grass, and motorhomes like ours are notorious for lack of grip on grass that is not bone dry. Just something worth bearing in mind in and being prepared for.

From the manager: Thanks glad you had a lovely time. I think you have the essence of what we are trying to deliver. Peace and tranquility with all services on the pitch.

Primitive grass campsite

Liked The site was great; served me and my mates really well. Owner and his wife were lovely and very helpful. Lovely site if you’re looking to relax, spend time with friends and family. Can also be a great base camp if you’re looking to explore Wales.

We WILL be returning as we were very very satisfied with our time here.

From the manager: Thanks so much. Thanks for saying in no way inkempt as another reviewer had said. It ts like some people just go out to destroy small businesses

Primitive grass campsite

Liked Close to a town

Disliked Unkept site with overflowing bins

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: This is ridiculous. I went around yesterday and spoke to you and you said you were having a great time. Its the responsibility of guests to clear up dog poo. The bin is full cuase its bank holiday weekend. It is being emptied tomorrow.and it is not unkempt. Ive attacehed recent pics.

Great site, level pitch, value for money.

FHU cement/asphalt and grass campsite

Liked Local towns and beaches only a short drive away.
Local cycle routes suitable for families. Snowden 25 minutes away.
Quiet site away from traffic and the main road.
Fully serviced pitch, with water and electricity.
Well maintained.

I’m confused by the review (August Bank Holiday 2025) saying that the site wasn’t maintained and the grass was too long. We saw the owner cut the grass the night before the weekend and it was short. We stayed at the site 6 days. My family sat on the grass and walked on it barefoot, and other families were enjoying the field too.

Disliked Nothing.

FHU cement/asphalt and grass campsite

Liked Site is central on the Island
TV signal good
Mobile phone fair coverage
16amp electric, included
Found site ok following owners e-mail
Heard owls hooting couple of nights

Disliked Grass long and weedy
Grass was cut across our pitches
Arrived at 2pm, having to wait 15mins to pitch after driving 7hours to get there.
Loud music, drums, electric guitar and singing on couple of nights, had to ring/text owner. Once 11pm and another after 2half hours

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: The site cut strimmed and weed killed every week. See photos.
The directions are emailed, you decided to use satnav which i guide against
The singing was a one off for a 21st birthday party which i told you about and finished at 10 pm and was a one off
You left your pitch foul. You poured brown waste in the grey waste which i had to personally clear out and left your pitch strewn with rubbish again which i cleared.

Unkept and unloved crying shame could be good site

FHU cement/asphalt and grass campsite

Liked Location was good , great base for exploring the island

Disliked Unkept pitch to such an extent we were nettled to death trying to pitch up .totally overgrown . Contacted manager regarding the issue who said that he would be back that evening to cut the grass . Which he did but only the grass pitches were done . We offered to move our car and disconnect the electric said but he would be back next day with strimmer . He did come back back 2 days later but our pitch still left untouched ! Our pitch was totally untouched the whole 4 nights we stayed . If you like it simple with just water and electric , this safari type pitch is for you , but I’m afraid NOT for us . This is advertised as a camc cl site we are not in the camc and paid less on pitch up than camc members . Just to let u all
Know !!!!!!
Location was poorly sign posted ended up having g to use what3words to locate the site

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: I did mow. Strim and weed kill. But i cant do it when your on pitch. The reaon being there are eldctric cables and it is dangerous to cut around them. I can only do that when clear. I asked you did you want me to mow around you but you werent willing to move your care or cables. The weed killer is strong. I cant do thst when your cooking a bbq or having a fog running round. I mow , strim and weedkill weekly. It grows back quick but thats what happens with a field. Its like painting the gorth bridge
