What customers say
This remote campsite gets top marks for its beautiful scenery, peaceful vibe, and friendly staff. Guests rave about the amazing views, lovely streams for kids, and great location for hikes and local sights. Facilities are clean, though a bit basic and could use a refresh. Great value for a relaxing escape!

Beautiful location and views facilities could do with a scrub
Powered grass tent campsite (five person)
Liked Absolutely beautiful location. Close to the river, which is good for a swoosh, paddle or swim.
Little stream runs through the site and there were children playing in that happily.
Nice flat pitches and broken into sections so you don't feel like you're just in the middle of a massive field of campers. Fridge, freezer, kettle and washing machine available for use.
Friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere.
Free WiFi although slow
Disliked Facilities are overdue a revamp. Only 2 male and 2 female toilets and a total of 3 showers (plus disabled facility) for the whole site (obvs not an issue for caravans). No grab handles in the disabled shower. Toilets, showers and kitchen area weren't just old they were very grubby. It didn't appear that the fridges were regularly checked for out of date and abandoned food, having found and removed a large carton of seperated milk from in there. Needs a good scrub.
Upon turning into the site by the farm dogs who came running out and barking aggressively. I think they were possibly startled by the motorbikes as no one else seems to have an issue.

Perfect location but facilities are disgusting.
Powered grass tent campsite (five person)
Liked The campsite is in an absolutely stunning location. Perfect with kids and dogs as the river flows straight past so the kids spent days playing in there. The camp manager is so lovely & friendly - and he is around to change your coins for the correct coins to use the hot water.
Disliked The toilets/shower/kitchen leave a lot to be desired. It was not clean at all even though I had seen the owner cleaning them in the early morning. There are cobwebs, spiders and flies absolutely everywhere. And the lights are on a timer so you can be on the toilet at night and the lights go off. The tiled walls around the showers were absolutely disgusting.

Peaceful campsite with stunning views and friendly, helpful staff
Primitive grass travel trailer campsite
Liked We recently spent two nights at Bird Rock Campsite on a non-electric pitch and had a wonderful time. The atmosphere was relaxed – you simply pitch up in a field – and there was plenty of space between campers. Even when it got busy, it never felt crowded or noisy.
The staff were all very friendly and helpful. We received a warm welcome at reception, and the camp manager always seemed to be on hand if anything was needed.
Facilities are fairly simple: two toilets and one shower per sex, plus a washing-up room with sinks and fridges. Although they’re a little dated and dusty, this is a working farm and we didn’t mind at all. We never had to queue for the facilities, although we tended to shower in the evenings.
At £25.50 per night, the price seems in line with other sites at the moment. The scenery is stunning, with mountains all around, and there’s plenty to do nearby. We enjoyed a lovely walk in the valley to see Castell y Bere, and the next day we took a trip on the charming Talyllyn Railway.
Overall, Bird Rock Campsite is a peaceful, scenic spot with a laid-back feel – perfect if you’re looking for somewhere simple and friendly to enjoy the beauty of Wales.
Disliked Nothing!
