  • Small family-run site on the northwestern edge of Eryri/Snowdonia
  • Two Snowdon paths five minutes' drive; Caernarfon Castle 15 minutes
  • Peaceful location with easy access from the A4085
Tucked away between the western edge of Eryri/Snowdonia National Park and the coastal town of Caernarfon, Bach Ventures Camping is a small and friendly family-run site that makes an excellent base for all the attractions and activities this part of the world has to offer. Set back from the main road and accessed via a 200-metre drive, this a peaceful place that welcomes all sorts of guests, including walkers, cyclists, families and visitors with dogs (a doggy bin is provided and you'll need to keep them under control on a lead while on site). Facilities are simple but well kept, with toilets, showers (no extra charge) and hot-water washing amenities all provided in separate blocks behind the main house. Barbecues are permitted as long as they are kept off the grass, and a communal firepit is provided for everyone to use. The local shop and garage sells firewood. Single-night stopovers are very welcome here, but this is an area that's jam-packed with things to do so it also lends itself well to longer stays. Two of the six paths up Yr Wyddfa/Mount Snowdon are five minutes' drive away, and there are lots of other outdoor activities around, including coasteering, climbing, kayaking, mountain biking and scuba diving. Several heritage attractions – including Caernarfon Castle and the National Slate Museum are within easy reach, and it's a 20-minute drive to the bridge over to Anglesey.

What customers say

This small, clean, peaceful campsite has friendly host Karen. Guests love its Snowdonia location, mountain views, and spacious sites. Clean facilities, good value, and a fire pit. Walk to pubs. Mobile signal can be spotty.

Liked This spot was really nice! The host was super friendly and helpful. She really took her time to get to know you and make you feel welcomed. The location was gorgeous and tranquil. And was close enough to caernarfon for supplies whilst beig in the prime location to access most paths for snowdon and over gorgeous hikes. cleaning and shower facilities were grand. honestly, get yaself here!

Disliked Not much to put here to be honest.

Primitive grass tent campsite

Liked Friendly site. Warm showers and washing up water. Choice of conventional toilets or new compost toilet block. Stone free pitch. Convenient for local walking.

Disliked The only thing I struggled with was lack of signal at the campsite, however that’s not within their gift. Managed to get signal at the end of their drive at the road.

From the manager: Thanks for your positive comments . Glad you enjoyed your stay with us

You can get signal with Vodafone and EE being the most reliable. Other networks are a bit hit and miss as often seems to depend on what phone you have.

From the manager: Hi Kate,
Thanks for your review but we are confused by it and would appreciate actual comments what you didn't like about our site and your stay.
You have given 5/10 for Location, Customer Services, Cleanliness, Value for Money and Wifi.
We find this strange as the majority of customers love the location and mention how clean they find our toilets & showers.
We feel only paying £12pppn is appropriate and is definitely a lot cheaper than the other sites close to us and lots of customers actually suggest increasing our fees.
We don't even have WIFI so confused.

We appreciate if you do not wish to actually comment but hope you would as without we cannot address any issues you found.
Best regards
Karen & Gordon

Primitive grass tent campsite

Liked Wonderful, peaceful site. Nice and quiet, we stayed for a June Friday night and there was only one other group there. Owner was nice, camping field was close to the cars, toilets were good.

Disliked No mobile data signal whatsoever for me. I know it can't be helped but it meant I couldn't check the weather forecast or anything so had to drive to a village to do that and then plan a walk.
