Liked The facilities are good here and the toilets are kept clean. Staff friendly.

Disliked Still would be better with a bit of lighting on the field, especially when your in the corners of the field it is quiet dark.

Power optional grass tent campsite

Liked The waterfall close by

Disliked The staff were rude and quite snobby,
The park seemed to be ran by children, constantly circling our pitches and intimidating our little girls, one of my
6 year olds was told to 'get of the tree' by a very small child who then proceeded to climb on the tree himself.
My service dog was also told to be put on a lead even though I explained and asked for two mins, my dog was not near anyone or bothering anyone his lead had snapped on our walk back to the campsite and we were just trying to wash off before making our way back to the tent to collect his spare. I was spoken to

The first night the 4 children were excited to have s'mores over a camp fire but we were shut down in five minutes and two other family's clearly known by the campsite proceeded to have them both nights while our children sat cold and very upset as to why they couldn't now have theirs, the campfire is our main highlight.

The second day we were spoken to like rubbish again by campsite workers, the constant mowing around us in between our cars and only ours, five other tents then turned up and pitched up together although it's stated no more than three groups, totally shocking and appalling experience, we left a day early and will not be returning. We have never done that before anywhere ever!

Power optional grass tent campsite (large)

Liked Flat pitch, good location. Fairly easy to find and accessible. Close to main road, so good for visiting tourist attractions and beaches. Warm and powerful showers.

Disliked Toilet block was not kept to standard during our stay: hand soap wasn’t refilled, hand towel dispenser wasn’t refilled, hand dryer was not working at times, and only two of the three cubicles had toilet roll.
I did send an email (out of hours) but didn’t receive a response. Not a show stopper, but I’d expect someone to inspect and resource these things daily, especially during the holiday season.

Primitive grass tent campsite

Liked Absolutely brilliant camp site, definitely a hidden gem, my son and I loved our stay there, everyone was helpful and friendly including the other campers. Facilities were clean and tidy,I really can't fault the place at all. Pitches were level and freshly mowed.Lots of places nearby to go,waterfalls Ryhl and Prestatyn beaches are a short drive away.

Disliked Very slight traffic noise from the motorways in the distance, it didn't bother me or my son but I could understand how some people might not like it,so if you are that way inclined earplugs would be useful.

Local attractions

For families, the safe sandy beaches, funfairs and plentiful tourist attractions of Rhyl and Prestatyn - just four miles away - will no doubt be top of the list. The attractive seaside resorts of Llandudno and Colwyn Bay are also within an easy drive. Fishing fans can try the trout farm ten minutes up the road from Penisar Mynydd Caravan Park, or head into St Asaph to fish the River Elwy; walkers can saunter through a superb selection of scenery, including nearby Offa’s Dyke, or drive to Snowdonia National Park and hike the mountains and lakes; and golfers will also find that this area suits them to a tee, with a huge choice of courses including Caerwys, Meliden, Rhuddlan, Rhyl, Holywell and Prestatyn. Other top picks for sightseeing include the village of Betws-Y-Coed and the neighbouring Swallow Falls; the imposing remains of Rhuddlan Castle; and seventeenth century Bodrhyddan Hall, where a 3,000-year-old mummy lurks among the armour and period furniture...
