  • Busy family park within easy reach of Colwyn Bay and Rhyl
  • Close to the beach at Abergele
  • Pool, playground, bar, restaurant and takeaway
Thrills in Rhyl or getting out to play in Colwyn Bay: both are in easy reach of Ty Mawr Holiday Park on the north Wales coast – along with gorgeous beaches, market towns, charismatic castles, and the inspiring scenery of the Welsh mountains. This buzzing, family-oriented park is great for kids: they’ll spend hours whizzing down the flume into the indoor pool and running around the large outdoor playground, and can join Sparky the rabbit and his Krew in the free kids’ clubs for all ages. There are also plenty of organised sports activities on offer. In the evenings, the whole family can enjoy a knees-up at the all-singing, all-dancing entertainment bar, where live bands and cabaret make a regular appearance, as well as fun theme nights and competitions. The various food options on site include plenty of takeaway choices at the Rendezvous diner and the Boathouse bar and restaurant. Modern amenities include toilets, showers and heated changing areas.

Liked Pitch was nice size and easy accessible, kids enjoyed outdoor park.

Disliked Payed for 2 days but where rhere less that that as werent allowed too book in until after 2pm and had to be out by 10am!
The pool was shut for the 2 days we were there for maintenance (however, didn't see anyone working on it the whole time) and we were only told about this after being given our pool passes on arrival. Food in restaurant is overpriced!

Meadows powered grass travel trailer campsite (large)

Liked Nice clean site, friendly, helpful staff, close to bus stop.

Disliked Very noisy road, day and night. The clubhouse and entertainment was poor, unless you like bingo but that seems to be the theme for the whole area. Somehow they had allowed several gypsy families on site, so you had to lock everything away or it would disappear. However it was quite entertaining watching the police raid them and tow all the stolen caravans away.

Warren powered grass travel trailer campsite

Liked The only good thing about the site was the Swimming pool even thou you have to book in advance and the touring pitches being big enough that it wasn't cramped

Disliked If staying on the warren you have to literally go all the way around to get outside as there's no gate the walk takes over 10 mins and is silly as there's so many options to have a gate fitted, and the lack of entrainment was disappointing it was all hub interactive

Warren powered grass travel trailer campsite

Liked The park, the shops and restaurants.

Disliked Loads of the activities weren’t available, the online booking system didn’t work for activities, no one seemed to know what was going on so often had to go from place to place to ask staff a simple question. For example went to go swimming, pool was shutting at 4pm. Asked about the times for the following day, staff member showed me a timetable but then said it was out of date so I would need to go and ask somewhere else, went to that place and that staff member didn’t know either. This kind of thing happened a few times.
There was a few times my children were playing football with other children and these children were swearing and fighting, climbing up to the top of the basketball hoops. No parents were anywhere to be seen and these children were probably only aged around 8 years old
Or so.
Wi fi was dreadful, paid for the upgrade and it didn’t work
Once.
