Entrance to site

  • Small and friendly rural north Wales site for CAMC members only
  • A 10-minute drive to Machynlleth; 15 minutes to the coast
  • Easy access from the A487; families and dogs welcome on site
If you’re considering nipping off to north Wales and you’re a Caravan and Motorhome Club member, you’ll certainly want to take a look at Furnace Farm Certificated Location. This family-friendly site, for CAMC members only, is just off the A487 in the tiny village of Furnace – a great base for touring this scenic area. Owners Glenda and Gwyn offer a warm welcome to this site, and they offer a good amount of space in which to relax as well. There’s only a handful of pitches here, so you’ll have plenty of scope to set up as you wish – perhaps putting your barbecue and camping chairs out for an alfresco evening or getting your awning set up in case of rain. Being surrounded by farmland means your neighbours are the flock of Welsh mountain sheep that graze the next-door fields. Kids and dogs are welcome here, as are walkers – there are plenty of lovely trails to try out nearby, including the short walk to Furnace Falls a few minutes away. Birdwatchers are well served too, with the Dyfi Osprey Project and RSPB Ynys-hir both just five minutes’ drive away. Beaches, heritage railways and attractive towns are all close by as well, and there’s an hourly bus service from the village to help you get around. Facilities on site include a smart modern bathroom block with accessible bathrooms, plus a recycling area and an enclosed dog run for canine chums to have a good stretch. To keep yourselves fed you may like to try the pub, café and community shop two miles away in Tre’r Ddol or treat yourselves to a Michelin-starred dinner at Ynyshir, 15 minutes’ walk away.

Liked What a wonderful site this!! Situated and peaceful little village not far from the major towns. Very clean site and amazing owners that will do anything for you. Plenty of wildlife around as the site is on the edge of a RSPB conservation site. All facilities are modern and absolutely spotless. Will definitely be returning!
