  • Peaceful park next to the River Forth, two miles from Aberfoyle
  • In Queen Elizabeth Forest Park, a half-hour drive from Stirling
  • Well-kept pitches with direct access to Loch Ard Forest; dogs welcome
If you’re setting off for Stirlingshire with your eye on finding lots of alfresco activities, you should certainly consider Cobleland Campsite as a base. A couple of miles south of Aberfoyle, this peaceful park is in the Queen Elizabeth Forest Park, just on the edge of the Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park. That setting means miles and miles of walking and cycling trails stretch out through the surrounding area, with fishing and golf close by too – and watersports, treetop trails, cliff jumping and the like for more intrepid guests. And in fact you don't have to travel far to get started on soaking up the spectacular scenery – you can simply stick around on site, where oak trees tower over the pitches and there’s a backdrop of pretty forest views with the River Forth running along one side of the site. Just beyond the river are paths taking you straight out into Loch Ard Forest for a woodland wander or a dog walk if you’ve brought your pet with you. The pitches at Cobleland are well tended and spacious, with access to all the essential amenities including a launderette, a washing-up area and chemical disposal as well as bathrooms with toilets, showers and disabled facilities. Aberfoyle (five minutes’ drive) has a small supermarket for supplies, plus several places to eat and drink.

What customers say

This well-kept site has lovely riverside and woodland spots, great for walks. Guests loved the friendly, helpful staff, clean facilities, and good evening vibe. The on-site shop and popular food trucks are bonuses. Usually quiet, it can get busy at peak times. Highly recommended for a relaxing, active getaway.

Primitive cement/asphalt campsite (woodland)

Liked Such a lovely site! We stayed just for the one night in the woodland pitch with a tentbox. The showers and toilets were close by and very modern and clean. The little coffee stand was great to have as an option and made our morning that little bit easier being able to grab a drink and bacon bap before heading out. It would have been 10 but unfortunately we happened to be landed next to a very disrespectful family who were extremely loud until gone 1am in the morning. This however isn’t the sites fault and would not put us off returning in future. Staff were also lovely who we had dealings with.

Disliked Noisy neighbours

Primitive grass tent campsite

Liked Beautiful location, easy to reach, plenty on walking. Very well maintained site, grass cut, cleaned convenient facilities, cafe on the site, pizza and burger vans coming up. Cafe and garden centre with coffee shop nearby, both very good.

Disliked 2 women were sitting peacefully fully and enjoying the fire in the evening , and became disappointed when the staff member approach and asked to stop the fire as it was after 10:30.... We just managed it to be going and started to enjoy ourselves sitting next to the burning log. Honestly...it would not hurt it anyone if we could have enjoyed it a bit longer

Meadow powered grass campsite

Liked I had such a lovely stay at this campsite and have booked to bring my kids back a week later. As a solo female camper, I felt safe, comfortable and genuinely welcome from the moment I arrived, which made all the difference.

The toilets and showers were always clean, and well maintained. The site itself has such a lovely atmosphere, especially in the evenings when the fairy lights come on and give it a really cosy feel.

There are some beautiful walks right from the campsite, a lovely wee beach by the river just a short walk away, and it’s only around a 20-minute drive to Ben A’an, making it a perfect base for exploring the area.

If you’re looking for a peaceful, friendly campsite in a stunning location, I’d highly recommend it.

Powered cement/asphalt travel trailer campsite (woodland)

Liked Beautiful, well maintained site. Lovely welcome from Oliver at reception.
Facilities very clean and always plenty of hot water. Shop not overpriced👌Glorious to be in nature and site part of the Queen Elizabeth Forest park ....🙏🌳

Disliked Had a lovely secluded last minute pitch , did not enjoy the incline....just a niggle probably due to me being a novice at levelling the caravan, always plenty of helpful campers to assist though, so minor
