Camping pod (secluded, pet friendly)

Liked: Excellent facilities, very Clean

Disliked: 4 pm check in is a wee bit late for me . Especially in winter when it’s dark early . Also 9:30 check out is a wee bit early for me . I was the only person in the huts so I would of appreciated one with a view of the loch rather than being further back .

Camping pod (secluded, pet friendly)

Liked: Great place to stay, beautiful surroundings very peaceful and tranquil, we stayed in one of the glamping pods that were pet friendly so was ideal as we have a dog. We took our 2 young kids for 2 nights and they had a great time, the pods were perfect for what you need, and pods were spaced out enough for you to have your own privacy, would definitely recommend it to families or couples 10/10👍

Geodesic dome (pet friendly)

Liked: Loved everything!
The staff were so friendly and welcoming, the dome’s were so cosy and unique. It had a cosy little log burner in and on arrival we had complementary logs, matches and fire starter bits to give us a head start.
The site was well maintained with a clean toilet facilities and a lovely on site kitchen with dining area.
The location for us was perfect as hikers, with Glen Coe a scenic hour drive and fort William about an hour and 45.
We go to Scotland around 3 times a year because this is our heaven, we have always stayed in hotels it camped but this was a hidden gem!
We loved how welcome our fur baby was to!
Also a lovely bar and restaurant on site called the boat house with good food and equally lovely staff!
We can’t thank the staff enough for everything and we will 100000% be returning to this wonderful place!

Geodesic dome (hot tub, pet friendly)

Liked: View and surroundings are amazing
Friendly staff
Domes are a great alternative to bringing our own tent (especially because the weather was mostly grim) - we did miss electrics in the dome - a plug or two would be handy!

Disliked: The restaurant is underwhelming - they are missing a trick here, with people staying in the park not having a lot of other options nearby. Needs more atmosphere and cosyness. Some nice sofas, better light and menu that isn’t so expensive!! The restaurant was empty mostly - in high season.

Place is remote which means quite a bit of driving for restaurants/ coffee shops.

From the manager: Hi Wendy,
Thank you for your review.
We are happy you enjoyed your stay @ Loch Tay! The domes do not have running electricity in them but we do have a lot of other properties which have plugs.
We are a rural location with beautiful scenery with the nearest village being 3 miles from the park.
I will pass your comments onto the restaurant team.

Hope to see you again!

Excellent site, clean facilities, plenty of things to visit.

Camping pod (secluded, pet friendly)

Liked: We stayed for 3 nights in a Camping Pod (Lewis) my children aged 11 and 7 years absolutely loved this site. We were perfectly located just about the toilet/shower block and wash room which was ideal.
Girls spent a lot of time at the park and made some new friend.
Staff were very friendly and were all the guests we met.

We used the Campers kitchen 2 evenings, I did take all my own pots, cutlery etc and was very pleasantly surprised to find the campers kitchen had everything you would need and more including glass and table wear as well as cutlery etc and extra fridges for storage.
Site was quiet and peaceful and a couple of forest trails, we were lucky enough to see evidence of the local beaver population 🤩

Disliked: I can't say I have any dislikes at all to be honest it was more than we expected.

Local attractions

The best things in life are free… Perthshire has visitors flocking to it from all over the world to soak up its spectacular scenery and wildlife, climb the peaks or ramble over its landscape. The scenic village of Killin and the Falls of Dochart are a short drive away from Loch Tay, or wander westwards to see the lochside village of Kenmore with Scotland’s oldest pub, or to pick up some worthy memories of your trip at Dewar’s World of Whisky in Aberfeldy. For somewhat more recent history, a trip to Castle Menzies where Prince Charlie rested on his way to Culloden in 1746 should be a Bonnie day out, as should the 18th-century Blair Atholl Castle with its gardens, adventure playground and sculpture trail. Perthshire has the River Tay as well as the loch: canter around the county for river fishing, walking and cycling the Tay Forest trails and the Ochil Hills, and the National Trust of Scotland site the Pass of Killicrankie with its river gorge, ancient woodlands and the first purpose-built countryside visitor centre in Scotland.
