Primitive grass campervan campsite

Liked The woodland walk

Disliked Presume it was the owner that came round the field a couple of times but didn't actually speak to us. Description is misleading, site is quiet when the scouts in the adjoining permanent camp base aren't doing karaoke or playing music! To describe one toilet as disabled friendly is also stretching the definition somewhat. Someone in a wheelchair would not manage the door or sink etc. although says torch needed for sight, there is no light the loo.

From the manager: I can only presume that, when I came round to the campsite, these campers were keeping a low profile in their van. I do not like to go round knocking on doors or shouting into tents to see if there is anyone there, since some people want privacy. If a camper opens a door or steps out to let me know they are there, I always make a point of greeting them.
With regard to the Scouts, although they use the site next door, it does not belong to them and this was, in fact, only the second camp this year. It is unfortunate that they disturbed these campers but, in this day and age, there is little in the way of healthy entertainment for young people and I am sure that the leaders would have turned the volume down if they had been asked.

Primitive grass campervan campsite

Liked Very quiet even tho the field next to us was full of scouts which turned out to be handy very clean toilets x £25 a night but I suppose for location for fringe was good just a 30 min train ride away x and all other sites were full being last minute so grateful for the space

Disliked I think for the amities it was slightly overpriced for the same price we had all amenities x no signal on phone so had to walk a mile to get signal to let family know we had arrived x drove round the field to pick space got stuck in mud went to owners home no one there good job the scouts were there pushed us out x in the two days there saw no one in charge x toilets although lovely and clean only two on site and only cold water x sink outside for washing up tap stiff and water outlet just fell from plug hole onto drain below missing it And wetting feet I think this should be
A £15 a night site not £25

From the manager: Had these people not left it until the last minute to decide to come to one of the biggest festivals in the country, they would have had time to read the full description of the site and been able to find one, which was not full and, which was more to their taste.

Dont book high season if you want a quiet site.

Primitive grass tent campsite

Liked Beautiful location near unspoilt woodland walk.
Level piches, Facilities were basic but clean.

Disliked Next door to scout camp field, full of very noisy children. Separated by a wire fence. They were well behaved but we booked a adults only quiet site!!!

A fine overnight stop for a camper van.

Middle of woodland and in a nice glen.

Disliked The toilet facilities were very basic. No showers or warm water.

Primitive grass tent campsite

Liked The quite peaceful campsite tucked away in the hills but loved that it was only a short drive to busy and exciting capital. Was perfect to come back to after a long day to relaxe.

Disliked Could have done with some better facilities but in away was quite natural and proper camping experience.
