  • Luxury Glamping
  • All Private bathroom, Hot Tub or Sauna
Evenings snuggled by the firepit and barbecue, before retiring to your glamping dome to spy on the night sky – now, doesn’t that sound like a fine idea? Boutique Domes may be a dream in the night time, with the possibility of starry skies and if you’re very lucky, the Northern Lights, but it’s also gorgeous in daylight hours… In daylight, you’ll get to appreciate the views over the sea, Portstewart and the Scottish isle of Islay. The domes are surrounded by the Binevenagh Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, declared such due to its spectacular rural scenery, and only five minutes’ drive away from the quiet beaches of Castlerock and Benone. A walk or a cycle are opportune ways to take in all that scenery, and when you return, there’s a private bathroom with a rain shower to scrub up in before you rustle up dinner on the barbecue. Source your supplies at the shop under five minutes’ drive away in Articlave. Each dome has a fitted kitchen, which includes a fridge stocked with all you need for breakfast and the ever-important teas and coffees. The domes are also equipped with a bedroom, a living area and either a covered private hot tub or a sauna.

Local attractions

Beaches are just one beauty spot around here – in the Binevenagh Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, tracking down a vantage point to take in all of those blue waves, fields and villages is easy enough with the Devil’s Thumb’s (20 minutes’ drive) views over the Wild Atlantic Way and Gortmore Viewpoint (10 minutes). A walking trail through a ruined mansion and gardens is something unusual to add to your plans, perhaps. This is the setting at the National Trust’s Mussenden Temple and Downhill Demesne (five minutes). To the northeast, Dunluce Castle (25 minutes) is another historic site. As Irish castles go, it is one of the most stunning – the medieval fortress, now ruined, is connected to the mainland by a bridge and set on a basalt outcrop. Such a setting should spark the imagination indeed. If among all of that, you feel like a day out in the city, Derry (40 minutes) is the spot. Walk the route of the still-intact 17th-century walls or take a pitstop tour of the cathedral, the Tower Museum and the neo-Gothic Guildhall.
