What customers say
This site has a stunning country location with great views, close to Belfast. Staff are friendly and helpful. However, many guests found the facilities, especially toilets/showers, dirty and poorly maintained, with issues like no hot water and a lack of cleaning areas. Some felt it was overpriced for what's offered.

Great for a night! Probably not great for winter camping.
FHU grass and gravel travel trailer campsite
Liked location was great! Less than a mile from the Divis and Black Mountain Carpark and we had an amazing meal at the lodge for dinner!
Disliked Facilities at the site were dirty and not suitable for winter camping really - should consider reducing price from £35 a night to £20 a night for winter time camping because it’s exposed and the toilet cubicle had no hot water (had to flick the heater on near the top of the wall and only realised after having the water running for a while…) no hand drying options like towels or dryer and one of them didn’t even have soap refilled. We thankfully used the toilets at the lodge when we checked in and before/after dinner but the lodge naturally closes at night so was an uncomfortable experience. Also no running water near each site it was just the main one at the entrance of the campsite as far as we were aware.

Liked area
Disliked Site was dirty, no signage for toilets, grey waste water or chemical waste. Toilets were filthy and showers were also filthy. Very noisy, people walking around at midnight drunk and talking/shouting loudly. Cars coming and going all night, also cars sitting in the car park with engines running and lights shining onto pitches. Cars revving at 0730.

Discussing,
FHU grass and gravel travel trailer campsite
Liked Nothing
Disliked Absolutely filthy, we booked this place before reading the reviews, explained to the guy at reception, who really didn't care, but he let us look around and inspect the place, we decided not to stay. We had booked for 3 nights and paid a deposit to Pitch Up, I really don't know why Pitch Up advertise this site it seems to be a Traveler's site. Don't book it, find somewhere else.

Liked Nothing, apart from the friendly receptionist.
Disliked We had an uneasy feeling when we arrived and our suspicions were confirmed when we checked out the toilets, showers and washing up area. They were all filthy and unfit to be used; the worst we’ve seen.
The other people on the site were clearly not on holiday and seemed to be more permanent residents who eyed us with suspicion during the two hours we lasted there.
When I told the receptionist that there was no way we were staying, she looked a little embarrassed and offered us a refund immediately, without any discussion. This tells its own story.

Friendly staff. Poor facilities.
FHU grass and gravel travel trailer campsite
Liked Handy for Belfast city centre visit. Short drive to 'park n ride' train station. Free parking all day and approx £4 train fare into centre of Belfast. Staff are friendly and try to make your stay as good as possible with the facilities available. Nice bar on site.
Disliked Poor camping/motorhome site. Campsite toilets and shower are a disgrace. Thankfully we were allowed to use the toilets in the Lodge.

Disliked Dreadful. Dirty and poor toilet facilities. No washing up area. Like a vagrant site. Staff friendly but doing a good job under difficult circumstances. Owners should be ashamed.

A well organised site with everything the camper / caravanner needs
FHU grass and gravel travel trailer campsite
Liked The location in the countryside close to Belfast, the view and the sunsets. The convenience of having a high class restaurant on the doorstep including for breakfast (although we didn't make use of it, being self contained). The size of the pitches for caravans / campers is very good and clearly divided.
Disliked The toilets and dishwashing facilities could be better. It would be useful to have a grey water disposal point that vans could drive over. The hills (for elderly cyclists!)
