What customers say
This friendly, peaceful campground offers great access to National Trust parkland and trails. Sites are spacious and mostly level. Facilities are clean and well-maintained, with heated restrooms, though some noted limited numbers during peak times. Occasional train noise is present but rarely bothered guests. Hosts are consistently praised for being welcoming and helpful.

Disliked Toilets were grubby!! Didn’t appear to not have been cleaned the whole weekend. Toothpaste dribbled down front of cupboard!

Liked Lovely site, facing a field with walking. Good toilets and showers. Owners are friendly and helpful. Mostly peaceful, occasional train passing on nearby line but nothing that bothered us. Sitting area, dish washing, toilet disposal and rubbish/ recycling close by.

Friendly host, easy access. Decent facilities. 6/10 overall.
Primitive grass campsite
Liked We stayed for one night and found the site easy to access, with a friendly, accommodating and informative host who made us feel welcome.
The shower and toilet facilities were decent, although the shower could benefit from a more thorough clean.
Overall, I’d rate this campsite 6/10. It offers a convenient, straightforward stay with a welcoming host, but there are a few areas that could be improved.
Disliked The campsite is located right next to a railway line, so trains can be quite noticeable for the few minutes they pass by, but it wasn’t something that bothered us too much.
One thing worth mentioning is that neighbouring campers experienced problems with aggressive wasps/bees during our stay, although they didn’t bother us personally. It was exceptionally hot weather at the time, which may have contributed to increased insect activity.
