If you’re crafting an adults-only break near the Cotswolds, Dora’s Pitches might just be the final ingredient. The pitches here are suitable for self-contained motorhomes and campervans only and based on a working farm with views of the Cotswolds. They're 25 minutes’ drive away from Cirencester and the Cotswold Water Park, meaning that the so-called ‘capital of the Cotswolds’ and watersports are within easy striking distance. The farm has its own shop called Dora’s Dairy, which sells milk, meat and eggs for breakfast sunny side up. There’s also a breakfast basket including a pack of bacon, a pack of pork sausages, six eggs and 500ml of fresh milk (all from the farm) available to order (just select the extra on your booking). Save any scraps for the canines; the pitches welcome well-behaved dogs. On-site facilities include water and a chemical waste disposal point. Where exactly is this place, then? Dora’s Pitches are on the edge of Purton, a quiet village with great local dining. There’s a village shop 15 minutes’ walk away and fresh produce at two farm shops within walking distance of the site. If you’re after a pint and local grub, you can find those at the local pub 15 minutes’ walk away. The working dairy farm is on top of a hill, well away from the road and surrounded by dog-friendly footpaths (with kissing gates). The welcome pack includes a map of the local footpaths, so you shouldn't get lost. Getting here should be a breeze, as the farm’s easily accessed from Junction 16 on the M4 or the A419 (both around five miles away). There is a regular bus service from the village to local towns too.

Liked Very peaceful and quite due to adults only which I love, yes I heard the odd bell here and there but it’s the cute little cows waking back on their evening walk with a little bell on them, lovely morning views and I didn’t notice until I went to hand money in the next morning that they had a little coffee machine and milk thingy, so cute, I already made a coffee on my gas stove but was lovely and had a great quiet weekend away. Thankyou everyone so much, great place and will probably be back if I am passing thru again

Disliked Map, where the location says it is isn’t, so got a bit stuck down a one way tight road while it said I was at location, unfortunately I was not but Thankyou to two kind lovely people for helping me and telling me where it was so I could drive there

Liked We really liked the views, the peace and quiet and the animals as our neighbours.
The owner/farmer was most welcoming to us and although we didn’t need the farm shop, it looked excellent

Disliked We didn’t see the fresh water, not wishing to invade other people space we would have struggled if we hadn’t brought water with us and had family nearby. We didn’t see the chemical disposal either so we took our toilet home. We were a bit short of time on our arrival and went straight to visit
our family in the village. The track was very rough and that worried us with a new motor home, along with the tight entrance.

Liked Lovely views, friendly staff and a great farm shop. Vodafone and O2 have fantastic signal here, no problem streaming films. I can't comment on other networks as these are the only networks we have.

Disliked The farm road to the pitch is uneven and therefore bumpy.

Liked Basic site run by very friendly people in a little oasis off the beaten track but not far from city & motorway links.
It’s a nice little field with stunning views.
I loved the farm produce for sale too.
I’ve seen reviews marking this site down for lack of facilities, but it’s in the site description that there are no toilets or showers. You need to be self-contained. There’s elsan waste disposal and a water tap, so not exactly wild camping!

Disliked 1 grumpy camper who told me I was listening to the news too loudly at 11am in the morning, but hopefully I’ll never see him again!

Liked Good value. View was nice. Farm shop with milk, meat and eggs.

Disliked Felt not as nice as other Aires. People living permanently on there? It was hard to know where to stand, as a lot of caravabs were standing and we felt like intruding anywhere.
