If you’re crafting an adults-only break near the Cotswolds, Dora’s Pitches might just be the final ingredient. The pitches here are suitable for self-contained motorhomes and campervans only and based on a working farm with views of the Cotswolds. They're 25 minutes’ drive away from Cirencester and the Cotswold Water Park, meaning that the so-called ‘capital of the Cotswolds’ and watersports are within easy striking distance. The farm has its own shop called Dora’s Dairy, which sells milk, meat and eggs for breakfast sunny side up. There’s also a breakfast basket including a pack of bacon, a pack of pork sausages, six eggs and 500ml of fresh milk (all from the farm) available to order (just select the extra on your booking). Save any scraps for the canines; the pitches welcome well-behaved dogs. On-site facilities include water and a chemical waste disposal point. Where exactly is this place, then? Dora’s Pitches are on the edge of Purton, a quiet village with great local dining. There’s a village shop 15 minutes’ walk away and fresh produce at two farm shops within walking distance of the site. If you’re after a pint and local grub, you can find those at the local pub 15 minutes’ walk away. The working dairy farm is on top of a hill, well away from the road and surrounded by dog-friendly footpaths (with kissing gates). The welcome pack includes a map of the local footpaths, so you shouldn't get lost. Getting here should be a breeze, as the farm’s easily accessed from Junction 16 on the M4 or the A419 (both around five miles away). There is a regular bus service from the village to local towns too.

喜欢 Very peaceful site with really lovely owners.
Tiny farm shop that sells some meat, eggs and raw milk, hard to get hold of in many places.
Good Vodafone signal.

不喜欢 You lost 1 star because of the track from the farm to the field. Goodness only knows what it would be like in the wet. Walking pace in the dry. Made it, but wouldn't want to put my van through it again x

喜欢 A peaceful hideaway setting, on a unique working mixed herd dairy farm.
Owners warm, welcoming and very helpful.
An onsite compact shop/stall, where you can purchase their own cow’s RAW milk. It Is a must, as it is simply heavenly.
Also don’t miss sampling their own icecream, like their milk, deliciously creamy.
I’d recommend you order their breakfast pack too; litre of Raw milk, bacon, sausage and 6 eggs; more than enough for two.
They even have a fresh coffee and hot chocolate machine!

不喜欢 It’s NOT a dislike, only a warning, that the field can be muddy at the entrance; our 3.5ton frontwheel drive, Motorhome became stuck, but the owner full of good humour and fighting spirit towed us out and offered us his hose with which to wash our wheels off. So very kind and thoughtful.

喜欢 Fantastic view, quiet (only ones there that night), very friendly welcome by the farmer.

不喜欢 Accessroad on the farmsite to the pitches was quite slippery since it has been raining that day but we got there with our motorhome.
