It’s a small secluded site near the very big stones of the World Heritage Site.... pitch up at fully landscaped Stonehenge Campsite and Glamping Pods for some high Stonehenge standards. The one-acre family-run Stonehenge Campsite and Glamping Pods is the nearest outdoor accommodation site to the famous stones, with plentiful facilities including sinks, a dishwashing area and a heated shower block with spanking new piping hot power showers. Dogs are welcome (and there are plenty of good walks nearby). Campfires are allowed on site, but do pipe down in the evenings as the park has a strict no-noise policy past 10pm (campers need to get their 40 winks if they're going to be up with the larks to visit the famous stones…). For food, two pubs are within walking distance, They are between a 15 and 20-minute walk away, in Berwick St James or Winterbourne Stoke. An easy footpath walk away is the well-stocked Berwick Farm shop for all sorts of tasty supplies, and a mini market, supermarket and fresh eggs and meat available from local suppliers are all within a short drive. Feeling particularly lazy? The takeaways in nearby Larkhill and Amesbury do deliveries straight to the site.

Liked ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Fantastic Campsite – Even During Storm Austen!

We had a fantastic one-night stay at Stonehenge Campsite, and what a memorable one it was! We stayed during Storm Austen, so the weather was certainly wet and windy, but that didn’t spoil our experience one bit. In fact, we loved every minute of it! 🌧️🚐

The campsite was amazing, spotlessly clean and really well maintained, with lovely, friendly staff who made us feel very welcome. The whole site had a great atmosphere, and we couldn’t fault it.

We also enjoyed the walk to the local pub, The Boot Inn, which was a lovely addition to our stay. Despite the challenging weather, we even managed to enjoy a campfire in the rain before retreating to our cosy van for a snug and relaxing evening. 🔥❤️

A huge thank you to the team for providing such a lovely campsite and making our stay so enjoyable, even in the middle of Storm Austen!


We would happily recommend Stonehenge Campsite to anyone looking for a fantastic place to stay, whether you're in a tent or a campervan. We’ll definitely be keeping it in mind for future adventures.

Moon camping pod (two person)

Liked Campsite was quiet and check in was easy

Disliked Pod wasn't ready when we arrived. Bed sheets were not that clean. We got bitten by bugs during the night

Liked Nice and quiet but I did go in October

Disliked Male toilets. Surprised that there was only one male toilet/shower for a campsite of this size. Also, I wouldn't want to use the glamping pods because of the toilet situation.

Liked Schöner Platz , der Typ der mich empfangen hat war sehr nett

Disliked Der Dusch/Toilettenblock könnte etwas komfortabler sein , ist aber sauber und kostenlos .

Powered grass campsite

Liked Site is spacious and well laid out . Lots of footpaths through surrounding fields with a little village / pub and cafe/shop only 15min walk away.

Disliked Note- very difficult to get any TV reception- dead spot !
Only 200mtrs from A303 so can hear road noise in back ground .
Men's toilet/ shower block is a bit dated but was clean.
Rather isolated / not within walking distance of any large village so bit limited.

Primitive grass campsite

Liked Stonehenge campsite is brilliantly positioned near to the A303 and yet not affected by traffic noise. Also it has a pub within easy walking distance and some lovely walks from the site. The site is well laid out and the pitches are spacious. The toilet block and facilities whilst a little tired are still very good.
