Bell tent
Liked: Just came home from a lovely 2 night stay, beds were comfy, tent was clean, so much space for the kids to run about, outdoor toys for them to play with. Kitchen facilities we all there for us to use. Loved every minute & will definitely stay here again.

Glamping, but without the pretence.

Bell tent
Liked: This is a small site with 4 (or 5?) pixie bell tents. There is a communal kitchen area with 2 gas cookers and a sink with a wooden table and chairs. There are 2 toilets and one shower with hot water. The kitchen area is really well kitted out with pots and pans, a dishtowel, fairy liquid, etc. There is a big field / lawn area in front of the tents with badminton; football goal and kids slide, swings etc. The small woodland area at the back has two sets of tables & chairs with a large firepit next to each. The tents themselves each have a double bed and two singles, which are basic and I think slightly smaller than a normal (perhaps I’m just used to kingsize) but comfortable and clean. There is a small bistro set with 2 chairs, plus two small beanbags in each tent. Outside each tent there is a cooler box and a coal bbq (weber type). This was a very nice touch and worth knowing in advance. We didn’t use this as we only went for 2 nights and used the kitchen area, but if other groups were there, I’m sure we would have used it. Also, each tent has a table / bench set. A lot of what we packed, we actually didn’t need. I would personally classify this as a little more rustic than I had imagined glamping to be, but that suited me perfectly. We were treated to a lovely display of the stars and even caught a tiny bit of the meteor shower on one of the nights.
We had two of the tents and were the only group staying, so we had all the facilities to ourselves which was great. The dynamics would be a bit different if the site was full with several other groups, but not so much that it would make it unpleasant. The site is has more than enough space. There isn’t an awful lot to do on the site itself (ie this is not a site with activities, pool, etc), this was great for us but some people may want more. In the mornings we enjoyed the view with a coffee while waiting for the kids to surface (teens!). We didn’t really get to explore the area much, but it does look like a walkers paradise.
Sue was a lovely hostess and went above and beyond for us, so thank you.
Disliked: Nothing. It was just lovely.
