Russet cabin

Liked The Hot Tub was lovely.
The heater in the Cabin was very good and very welcome in the cold.
We really like the robes and blankets that were supplied.
The little kitchen was very compact but very good.
The location near the pub was nice as we don't drive.
The handbook was very informative and made it easy to use all the appliances.

Disliked We knew there was an outdoor toilet but it was a bit of walk. The outdoor shower was noisy and not great pressure.

From the manager: Thank you so much for your positive feedback! We're delighted you enjoyed the hot tub, the cabin's heating, and the provided amenities. We appreciate your feedback about the shower, which is private for the use of Russet guests only. We appreciate that for some guests the glamping experience of a separate shower/wc may be new. The shower/wc is located in the Russet Cabin area of the orchard, behind the hedge and private gate - just a few steps from the decking. The shower is not a mains unit and therefore doesn't reflect a 'hotel' experience but does offer lots of hot water, which is included in the tariff.

Russet cabin

Liked The cabin is beautiful! There is everything you would need for a weekend end away. The cabin was all made ready for our arrival, the hot tub was nice and hot 👌🏼 and it’s round the back so nice and private. There is a lovely little pub a stones throw away called the new harvest moon and they serve reasonably priced food and a very tasty roast dinner. We went in November so beautiful autumn mornings. The toilet is separate so you can use it without embarrassment, although it makes for a chilly wee in November 😂Cannot fault this lovely little cabin, looking forward to booking again in the spring time.

Disliked Nothing I disliked at all. Only thing is make sure you don’t miss your turning as the field at the top of the lane doesn’t belong to these people and they came down and told us off, genuine mistake on our part.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for your kind review! We're thrilled to hear you had such a wonderful stay.

It’s great to know you appreciated the cabin’s beauty and comfort, the private hot tub, and the convenient location near the village pub. We’re also glad you enjoyed the autumnal scenery.

We’ll definitely take your feedback about the turning into consideration and are already planning new gates and ways to easily signpost guests. We want to ensure all our guests have a smooth arrival.

We hope to welcome you back again soon!

Local attractions

This might be a very secluded little cabin but it’s actually surprisingly well connected, as it’s only about five minutes’ stroll from the Bridgwater and Taunton Canal (a lovely place for a walk on the towpath) and about 15 minutes’ drive from Bridgwater or the Quantock Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. While you’re in the area, you may also like to have a go on the water yourselves from the Somerset Boat Centre (five minutes’ drive), catch a match at Somerset County Cricket Club (15 minutes) or head north to Cheddar Gorge and Wookey Hole (40 minutes). Urban wanderings might take you to the likes of Taunton (15 minutes), Glastonbury (35 minutes) or Wells (45 minutes), each of which has its own character. If it’s shopping bargains you’re after, maybe a trip to Clarks Village (half an hour) should be on the cards as well.
