Guests return season after season to serene Osmington Mills Corner Campsite in its Dorset coast setting just outside the village of Osmington: it's been family run for over 60 years and has Dorset site stays down pat. Spacious pitches, room for kids to run around, and scenic views towards Weymouth four miles away are the secrets of its success, along with a peaceful rural vibe, restaurants nearby, and the site's closeness to the sea, a mile from the beaches of the Jurassic Coast. You can easily access the region's spectacular walks from here too, as a footpath leads from the site to the coast to connect with the South West Coast Path. (Or if that's a no thanks to the walk, a bus stop is just outside the site with services running to Weymouth.) Osmington has toilets, showers, a washing-up area and the means for ice pack freezing and gadget charging. A shop is next door to the site, and pubs and restaurants are within walking distance.

Liked I like that you can pitch where you like as it is very much open space. Toilets clean n tidy and a power socket to charge your phones.

Disliked The showers where in an outdated block that could do with a good clean or rebuilt as there is a hole covered with a shower curtain.

Liked Lovely site, though near a road you hardly hear any traffic at all. It’s close enough to the bigger towns that you can easily visit if you want, but far enough away that you can also find some hidden gems if you prefer.
The people who were running it were so helpful and lovely, and as a single parent, I felt completely safe leaving my tent in the day and at night knowing they were on site too.
This is definitely a site to recommend.

Disliked The ONLY negative was the lack of hot water and shabby toilet and shower block. I would recommend looking into one of the business grants that the council offer to either upgrade what is there, or knock it down and replace the whole block.
That being said, is this enough to stop visiting in the future? Definitely not, I plan to come back.

Very clean and tidy
Toilets and showers are regularly cleaned
Great location with bus stop outside
Beautiful sunset
The campsite run a handy little shop at the entrance and also have a great cup of tea
Layout of pitches is brilliant and makes it feel like you have your own area and not a huge field of tents.

Disliked No hot water for hand washing ( does state this on listing so not a surprise ) tiny thing and we have already stayed here twice and would stay again!

Get out onto the South West Coast Path close to the site, try your hand at fishing for Dorset mackerel, canter along the coast on horseback, take a boat out, or up the ante with some kayaking or zorbing… all available nearby. Weymouth, four miles away, has been a famed Dorset seaside spot since Georgian times and these days has stacks to do such as sailing and surfing (several surf schools are around if you're just starting out), a long sandy beach and a Sea Life Centre, miniature railway and RSPB reserve above the town at Lodmoor Country Park. More famed Dorset days can be had with fossil hunting on Chesil Beach, six miles away, and taking in the sight of spectacular Durdle Door at Lulworth Cove, within seven miles of the site. You could also chatter with the inhabitants of Monkey World, see the swans at the award-winning Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens, or steam along to the Tank Museum at Bovington, all reachable within 10 miles.
