What customers say
This spacious, friendly, peaceful campground has a laid-back vibe, great for families. Clean facilities, a charming steam train, and hay bale play area are highlights. Excellent base for exploring. Some found the terrain hilly and showers dated (20p meter), but many thought it great value and plan to return.

Nice, basic campsite
Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked Great location for spending the day at Swanage or Studland. Easy check in, spacious site & clean / well stocked toilets.
Disliked The showers run on a meter 20p for 2 or 3 minutes, input in 60p and the shower (no.1) didn’t work. I was in there undressed & ready to go & had used all my 20 pence pieces so had to wait until we had been to the arcades in the evening to change up sone more money.
Campsite is hilly so whilst its a large site if you arrive when its busy you will struggle to find a flat pitch.
The site nextdoor was quite noisy late into the night (i imagine only an issue if you set up near the adjoining hedge as we did)
Despite these issues I would go back!

Back to basics fun
Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked We camp here every year at the same time to watch the meteor showers. It didn't disappoint. If you like un crowded and basic amenities, which we prefer then this is the place for you. Showers, toilets, washing stations, a boat and haybales for kids to play on. Snack and beverage station opens daily and croissants via van. Back to basics fun. Love it. Friendly staff. Thanks again Quarr.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked This lovely little campsite is basic, just a couple of big fields with toilets and coin operated showers, with a couple of sinks for washing up.
There are some hay bales for the kids to play on. The fields are quite hilly so you might have to drive around a bit to find an even pitch. The little cabin/reception in the field opens sometimes, not sure what times exactly but when we arrived at about 5pm it was shut so we just pitched up. It opened the next morning and evening. It sells a few very basic supplies, but also ice cream! A little bakery van visits the field about 9am and sells croissants and pastries as well as bread, milk, eggs and bacon, the lady sounds a bell to announce her arrival. The train track runs close to the field and you can see the steam train roll though, some might be put off by how close it is but we felt it added to the charm and the trains don't run during the night. The site is a little bit out of Swanage but if you have a car it's not a problem. If you are looking for somewhere low key (and very reasonably priced) to relax then I would highly recommend this place.

Perfect site, can’t wait to return.
Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked Site was peaceful, except for the odd steam train but that completely adds to the charm. Facilities were clean and well looked after. Operated showers were hot and worked really well, the pitches are so cheap that 20p a shower does not bother me at all. Great little hay bale play area for the kids was lovely. Will definitely be coming back to this site, we loved it. There was a lady that came round in a van, ringing a bell, selling baked goods! How perfect is that?! The wildlife was also spectacular, we heard an owl every night and my son saw a deer. Lovely little kestrel was also close by. So glad I found this gem of a site.
Disliked Nothing, it was great.
