  • North Devon glamping with spectacular moorland views; alpacas on site
  • Within an hour's drive of Dartmoor and the Exmoor coast
  • Furnished bell tents with a double bed, electricity and induction hob
Overhill Exmoor is a peaceful family-run glamping site in a rural north Devon location. Located on the edge of the village of North Molton – where there is a pub, village shop and post office – this site has access to both of Devon's spectacular national parks within an hour's drive or less. In fact, for exploration close to base, the southern edge of Exmoor is just over a mile away to the north. Your five-metre bell tent accommodation comes equipped with a comfy double bed, electricity, a twin induction hob, toaster and kettle. Outside, there's also a firepit, a barbecue and open-air furniture, making it easy to spend laidback evenings relaxing under the stars. Each of these lovely tents is in its own little fenced patch, so you'll have plenty of privacy away from the chats of your fellow glampers. A short walk away, well-kept shower cabins, luxury toilets and basins add an extra layer of comfort and convenience. The market town of South Molton is a 10-minute drive away if you're in need of a supermarket, swimming pool, restaurant or takeaway. The town also hosts a traditional pannier market – a must-see when visiting the West Country. Overhill Exmoor is approximately 45 minutes from the excellent surfing beaches at Croyde or Woolacombe, while historic Lynton (35 minutes), Lynmouth (35 minutes) and Clovelly (45 minutes) are easily accessible too.

Liked: Toilets and showers are spotless and well maintained. Very friendly hosts. Amazing view from right out the tent. The tent is very sturdy and has kept us dry on our stormy first night! Excellent location to explore Exmoor and a short distance to Dartmoor.

Bell tent (family)

Liked: The owners were very helpful and inviting, the tents are very spacious and roomy inside and the facility’s we’re great as everything was thought of from cooking to cleaning, the toilets and showers were clean and easy to use with a touch of luxury, with each tent having it’s own space was great as didn’t feel like you were cramped in, the alpacas on site were a hit with the kids and very adorable, to top it off with amazing views over the rolling hills of the Devon countryside while relaxing with a bbq and outdoor fire pit was a great way to relax on the evenings, the site is situated in a great location where you can travel to all the main locations in the area from beaches, towns and quiet villages, (did take more pictures but they all had my kids in so didn’t want to upload) can’t wait to return 10/10

Bell tent (family)

Liked: Good beds and most things worked well. The hosts were really friendly and helped us out with extra blankets as the nights were cold.

Disliked: We felt the cooking setup didn't really work. The unit was far too small with nowhere to put plates or chop veg. It would make more sense to have a designated cooking area in the washing up tent with more room to spread out. The site was a bit sparse and plain and could do with cheering up. Some more plants, a bit of colour to make it more welcoming.

From the manager: Please see reviews above and below for the same accommodation and experience. I will endeavour to put more plants outside the marquee although most people come to experience the farm, moorland views and night skies. Sorry the kitchen space in your 5m bell tent wasn’t big enough for you. As your request for blankets was met, so would your request for an extra table have been met. I hope you find what your looking for in your next rural camping experience. All the best Becky and James.

Liked: Becky and James were really helpful they had thought of everything you need to make your experience as comfortable as possible, the facilities were spotless the views were absolutely amazing, the use of the site fridge freezer was very handy including the cold box in your tent. The fire pit/Bbq grill was fantastic along with the other cooking facilities that they also provided. The place was so lovely we managed to extend our time on site for another day we will definitely be returning 😊

Liked: Fantastic site. The hosts were very friendly and the facilities were probably the cleanest we’ve had on a camping holiday. It’s a fab location for visiting the moors but also towns and villages. The stars are amazing and must be seen. Fantastic, relaxing holiday!
