General
- Quiet farm site with spectacular rural views
- A 15-minute drive from Sidmouth seafront; Exeter 35 minutes
- Direct access to the quiet river Sid and local footpaths
Uninterrupted views over the hills and down to the sparkling Devon coast await at Synderborough Farm, a laidback site where all that remains for you to do is to pitch up, enjoy the panorama and pour yourself another drink.
Situated in the Sid Valley just a mile to the north of the pretty thatched village of Sidbury, Synderborough Farm is well-maintained, peaceful and in an excellent location close to the Jurassic Coast. The seaside town of Sidmouth is a quarter of an hour away by road, while other popular coastal spots like Budleigh Salterton (25 minutes) and Lyme Regis (30 minutes) are within similarly easy reach.
Dogs are welcome to come along and join you at Synderborough Farm, and you won't struggle to find plenty of places to walk them in the surrounding East Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, a wildlife haven crisscrossed by well-signposted rights of way.
And after all that exercise? You could head down to the coast for fish and chips on the beach, book yourself a table at the local pub in the village centre and settle down for a sit-down meal or head into Honiton (10 minutes), where there are pubs, shops and supermarkets to keep you suitably fed and watered.

Please do not use satnav after Honiton, as it will take you down a very narrow road that is not suitable for caravans or motorhomes. Continue on Long Down Hill and take the first right-hand turning by a large white house and the sign for Sid Valley Country Hotel. Then, immediately turn left opposite the drive to Synderborough House. The site is located to the right of an orchard and chicken run. Please go in through the open gateway. Follow the drive left through the yard.
Local attractions
There's direct access from the site to the river Sid and easy access to the 40-mile East Devon Way for overland explorers. Sidbury has a couple of pleasant circular routes, or you could head out to scenic spots further afield like RSPB Aylesbeare Common (15 minutes' drive), one of the few remaining southern lowland heathland habitats in England.
For a day by the seaside, Sidmouth, the so-called jewel of the Jurassic Coast, is just a four-mile drive to the south. From shopping in its old streets to taking a peek to see what's on at Kennaway House, a Regency mansion that's used for all sorts of events, you're sure to find something to do. Two cliff-backed beaches are in the town for paddling, and there's access to the South West Coast Path for dramatic coastal hikes as well.
Days out on the more urban side beckon too, as Exeter city centre (35 minutes) can be easily reached from the farm for visits to its spectacular cathedral, walks along the trendy riverfront area, shopping or crowd-pleasing indoor options like bowling, swimming pools and cinemas.
