What customers say

Highly recommended for estuary views & great location near Kingsbridge. Guests love clean, eco-friendly facilities. Peaceful with friendly hosts. Free campfire logs a plus. Minor notes on grass clippings & shower privacy/warmth for some.

Liked Amazing location with stunning views. Lots of room for everyone. Two toilets and shower with warm water, washing up facility. Owners and staff very friendly, making sure that our stay was nice and cleaning the facilities a few times a day. Overall very nice stay, will be returning and recommending.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite (two person)

Liked Beautiful view and close to the town which was accessible by foot. Facilities were clean and saw staff regularly which was reassuring. Wood for fires were provided which was a nice touch.

Disliked Only two toilets (drop holes) and one shower, which could be an issue during busier months. The washing up station was just a bottle of cold soapy water so not the most hygienic in terms of being able to wash up.

We would definitely come back in the future.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite (solo)

Liked Friendly, chatty staff who do regular check-ins. Extremely well maintained facilities and clean, well stocked toilets. Free wood! Quiet campsite with a beautiful view of the creek and estuary. 10 minute walk from town.

Disliked Needed a small play area for little children, in addition to the goal posts. The steep hill, but it was essential for the view, so worth the climb.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite (two person)

Liked Great location as its only walking distance from the town (make sure you take the shortcut to the city centre), stunning views day and clear sight for star gazing at night. Similarly, the facilities were clean and the team in Woodhouse Farm gave extra service touch that stand out from other campsites I visited before. I highly recommend it, thanks Woodhouse Farm Eco camping team!

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite (two person)

Liked The facility’s where clean and well maintained the staff where friendly and approachable.

Disliked Site could do with a gate to stop people from entering after a certain time and without paying but not too much of an issue.

Local attractions

Up first, perhaps beaches? Thurlestone (15 minutes’ drive) is best known for its rockpool rummaging activities, gorgeous sandy beaches and watersports. Then there’s the fishing village of Hope Cove (15 minutes), which has two beaches of its own, each with safe swimming shallows (and art galleries waiting back on dry land). You may prefer to stick to the South West Coast Path (15 minutes), where walks can be as long as you wish. If it’s just a short and sweet stroll you fancy, the tropical gardens at the National Trust’s Overbeck’s (20 minutes) should hit the spot. Perhaps it’s Slapton Sands (20 minutes) that takes your liking, what with its scenic shingle beach and the Slapton Ley National Nature Reserve for more peaceful walks. You may choose to rest your feet at Bigbury beach (25 minutes) instead, where there are sea tractor rides to Burgh Island or kayaks and other water vessels available for rent. For theme park rides, a zoo farm and falconry centre to entertain the kids, head to Woodlands Family Theme Park (20 minutes).
