  • Countryside park on 500 acres, 15 minutes' drive from Woolacombe
  • Woodland walks, nature trails, pool and riding centre on site
  • Two on-site bars and a takeaway; play park and miniature golf
Life’s little stresses getting you down? Want to stow yourself away for a countryside break where everything is close to your pitch? Come along to Combe Martin’s Stowford Farm Meadows in north Devon for a bit of de-stressing in a rural setting: the park is a mile from the main road down its own private drive and is a well-placed base from which to explore the best of Devon. Set among 500 acres of Devon woodland and meadows, Stowford Farm Meadows falls into the category of ‘very large’ sites – but fear not if your tastes tend towards the more solitary, as the park is divided into five separate fields and feels like several small sites rolled into one. The overall size means there are heaps of facilities and activities for you to try your hand at, from cantering around on horseback with the help of the on-site riding centre, to driving the kids crazy with your swish moves at the crazy golf. Looking for something a bit quieter? There are marked woodland walks into the wildlife-rich Bittadon valley, with nature trails starting and finishing on site. A heated indoor pool is available for a small extra charge. For putting feet up or letting hair down, the site has two bars (with evening entertainment in peak season) and an on-site takeaway. For supplies, Stowford Farm Meadows has a licensed, well-stocked shop and for your caravan and camping accessories. And finally? Even the dog will de-stress here, with a friendly welcome and a spacious dog-walking area on site…

Liked The local area of illfracombe. Things off site.

Disliked The on site chipshop is only open friday-Sunday(in high season) if your Unfortunate too eat there the food is very poor quality.
The stables bar food isn't much better to be honest and they decide when they serve food. Several members of our family turned up for lunch at 1pm too be told they wernt serving lunch until 3pm.
Breakfast is also served on a can I be bothered basis it's supposed too be between 8.30 until 11.30 but due too staff absence isn't served everyday.
This is find confusing since half the staff that work there appear too live on site.
The swimming pool is too be swam in at your own risk. It cost £4.50( not the £3.65) advertised on pitch up and absolutely stinks of urine. Its unmanned and I dont know how often it's cleaned but the water is cloudy and the bottom of the pool has a layer of dirt.
The shower block is cleaned regularly but the showers dont stay on so you have too keep pressing the button.
They advertise a petting zoo this doesnt exist and the same can be said for the riding stables which are there but didn't appear manned at all during our week stay.
The crazy golf is not worth the money it's on an uneven cement pitch which makes is almost impossible too keep your ball on the the right hole zone.
Dont pay for WiFi it doesnt work anywhere on the whole site.
We would never return such a shame it's a beautiful part of the country. We camp every year and this was the most expensive site we have booked. We have been too other family run sites with free swimming and better facilities. I dont know if it's because it's been taken over by park holidays but it's been a massive let down. What can't be helped and isn't the parks fault is the strong smell of weed and people drinking until 2am.
So if you like your sleep and a half decent campsite. I would Avoid this place!

Liked Showers and toilets very clean. Large pitch with electric hook up facilities near by. Horse riding on site ideal for younger kids.

Disliked Fish and chips not great and quite pricey, the batter on my fish was very thick and undercooked.

FHU cement/asphalt travel trailer campsite

Liked As usual, the site was clean and (where we were) quiet with well kept facilities block, plenty of hot water.Pitch was good and level.

Disliked Not much really but I don't think I like the direction the site is being taken now it's in more of a corporate ownership. We have recently bought a touring caravan after many years of camping and it seems camping will be a thing of the past on this site.More and more static caravans are being moved in and hardstanding pitches being prepared for touring vans

Powered cement/asphalt travel trailer campsite

Liked We had an amazing stay at this campsite and can’t recommend it enough! The site is massive – which we loved – giving everyone plenty of space while still feeling welcoming and well-organised. There are loads of beautiful walks and sights right from the doorstep, so it’s perfect if you enjoy exploring the outdoors.

The toilet and shower blocks were huge and spotless every time we used them, which made a real difference. The on-site shop was a great bonus too – really handy for picking up the essentials (and a few treats!).

We honestly loved everything about this place and are already planning our return.

Liked Traffic delays meant we were going to miss the 5pm check in - we called ahead and were told to relax, take our time and if needs be they would put our name and pitch number in the reception window - excellent service - we did make it and had a friendly welcome from receptionists.

As we were pitching a Warden came and checked we were ok - asked him about dog areas and he pointed us in the right direction.

Whole site is really dog friendly - lovely dog walking area and our dog was also welcomed in the stables to watch our children ride.

Stables were a great addition - we had booked a trek in advance and didn’t disappoint really friendly staff.

Spotlessly clean site - saw multiple wardens throughout our stay litter picking and the toilet and shower blocks were also clean and heated which was a bonus.

Great little shop for extras such as cold drinks etc.

This is a huge campsite but because of the way the fields are laid out each one quite private with its own large shower block it didn’t feel as big as other sites we’ve been to.

Disliked Our tent pitch was on a slight slope - will try and request a flatter pitch for our next trip.

Fish and chip shop wasn’t great quality and felt overpriced for the food we had.
