  • Peaceful but convenient Cornwall farm site just outside St Austell
  • Eden Project and two sandy beaches within 10 minutes' drive
  • Family-run site with sea views over Carlyon Bay
If it’s a toss-up between sea views and proximity to popular attractions as the most important consideration for your Cornwall holiday location, you can put the coin down right now. On a hillside at the top of a family farm just outside St Austell, Boscoppa Farm Glamping and Camping has fabulous views out over Carlyon Bay, and it’s a mere 10 minutes’ drive from the Eden Project, Cornwall’s most-visited attraction. Those two things alone may well be enough to entice you, but there’s more… as this mid-Cornwall site is also handily close to both the A390 and A391 for easy outings to other favourite attractions including the Lost Gardens of Heligan, Bodmin Jail Attraction and fishing villages like Fowey and Mevagissey. You’re never too far from a beach in Cornwall either – and in this case there are a couple of lovely sandy stretches (at Porthpean and Carlyon) about 10 minutes’ drive away. Staying just outside St Austell is a clever move, too, putting you within easy reach of shops, places to eat and other amenities. The nearest food shops and supermarkets are about five minutes’ drive away, and you can get to the town centre in 10 minutes. Even with all this convenience, the site itself maintains a peaceful and relaxed atmosphere, with plenty of space to soak up the sea views. Dogs and kids are welcome, and you’ll be allowed to set up a barbecue for your outdoor meals if you like.

What customers say

This campsite offers a peaceful stay with stunning sea views from isolated farm paddocks. Guests loved the comfy beds, clean facilities with warm showers, and well-equipped outdoor cooking areas with fire pits. Bell tents provided privacy, with picnic tables and BBQs. Great for families, with a safe outdoor area and horses. Easy access to local amenities. Seek directions in daylight due to a rough road. Towels not provided.

Primitive grass campervan, tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked Everything was exactly as described on the Boscoppa Farm website.
The"Keep Going!" sign was a great morale boost, just as I was losing confidence that we were still on the correct lane to get us to our pitch at the top of the camping field (with a beautiful outlook), and there was plenty of space to park up, especially since we were overnighting on the Thursday before the May Bank Holiday Weekend.
Aliki and Lawrance came to meet us as soon as we phoned to let them know we had arrived, and were extremely welcoming - a lovely couple!
The on-site WC and shower cabins (x 2) were spotless, complete with toilet paper, hot water, soap and scented diffusers.
Slightly disappointed that I can't personally review the washing-up station, as my wife had taken charge of doing the dishes (on a temporary basis, she assures me) but that also looked to be on point, as did the waste disposal facilities.
We were only there for one night, leaving early(ish) to get to the Eden Project, but the potential for spending some genuine "quiet time", surrounded by nature, the view, and some good reading material was pretty obvious.
There are no shops or pubs within hailing distance (you could, of course, make an expedition or two) so you'd be well advised to bring some consumables with you.

Primitive grass campervan, tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked Lovely campsite, nice area to set up your tent next to the glamping tents. Drinking water on site and a toilet and shower block. Gorgeous view from the top! The road to the campsite is a tad bumpy but if you take it slow it’s absolutely fine. Owners very nice and responsive

Disliked Nothing

Primitive grass campervan, tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked What an amazingly tranquil small site! When we stayed overnight we saw Buzzards and Jays and whilst common around St Austell and Tregrehan it was amazing to watch them so close by.

Views out over St Austell Bay were superb, I recommend you take binoculars, which I forgot 😓

The facilities were very clean

You get a marvellous sense of being out of civilization but still remaining in walking distance of The Britannia Inn or Tesco/Lidl or Spar and Post Office.

Clear and friendly communication

Disliked I disliked nothing

Bell tent

Liked The site was clean and the views were incredible. The owners were super responsive and very helpful.

Disliked Only 2 toilets and showers. Worth being aware of if site is fully booked!
No privacy at all between Bell tents.

From the manager: Hello Felicity,

Many thanks for your review — we’re really pleased to hear that you found the site clean, enjoyed the views, and felt supported during your stay. We also hope you and your family enjoyed the complimentary upgrade to one of our new Emperor tents; we thought it would suit your group since you were traveling with children.

Regarding the facilities, we do currently have two toilets and two showers, which we’ve found to be sufficient for a site of eight accommodation units. We’re sorry to hear if you experienced any inconvenience during your stay, as this isn’t something we typically encounter.

Our bell tents are spaced approximately 5 metres apart, in line with campsite recommendations. We appreciate that more space can sometimes be preferable; however, we’ve intentionally arranged the site along the top of the field so that every guest can enjoy the same uninterrupted views. Increasing the spacing would unfortunately require either adding a second row — which could impact the view — or reducing the number of tents, which would affect our ability to keep pricing accessible.

We noticed that, despite your kind comments about the site, you selected that you wouldn’t recommend us or return in the future, reducing our previous 100% rating. As a small business, feedback like this is incredibly valuable to us, and we’d really appreciate any additional insight you might be able to share about your decision. It helps us understand where we can improve and ensure we’re offering the best possible experience.

Thank you again for your stay and for taking the time to leave a review.

Best Wishes
Aliki

Barrel 1 bedroom camping pod

Liked I rented a basic Barrel Pod in the camping area up in a huge high farm paddock - quite isolated. Beautiful view of the sea. Queen bed very warm & comfortable. Clean ablution block with flush toilet & warm shower. Very suitable for large family get togethers. Covered outside kitchen with many tables & wood braziers. I arrived after midnight due to the breakdown of my hire car & the delay in getting another vehicle. Very nice couple.

Disliked No towel supplied with bed linen. Hard to find the way up to the camping area at night so best to ring owners for directions as i did, or arrive in daylight. Road is a little rough.

Bell tent

Liked It was very peaceful and we had a very relaxing stay.
The owner was at the other end of the phone if we needed anything. We loved that each belltent had its own picnic table and bbq/ firepit, with stunning views of the cornish coast, plus there is a lovely beach is 10 minutes down the hill (Carlyon Bay). The tents are well-furnished and plenty of bedding provided. The battery-powered lamps and a woodburning stove for making cups of tea and small meals were nice additional touches.
We all (especially our toddler) really enjoyed the safe outdoor area and visiting the horses in the field below.
There is also a Spar that is open until late just down the hill, plus a Tesco superstore 5 minutes away, and lots of attractions in the vicinity such as Eden and Heligan.

Local attractions

So, to the Eden Project (10 minutes’ drive) to start with? It’s a fine choice – this is Cornwall’s most popular visitor attraction for a reason. The indoor and outdoor gardens are packed with plant species from around the world, and the attraction also has an imaginative play area, an adventure park and an events space that stages major musical events. Plant enthusiasts should also add several other local attractions to their list, including Tregrehan Garden (10 minutes’ drive) and the Lost Gardens of Heligan (20 minutes) – or perhaps a tour of Camel Valley vineyard (half an hour). Meanwhile, for more outdoor activity, try a game at Cornwall Football Golf Park (five minutes). Dipping into the area’s heritage might take you to Wheal Martyn Clay Works, the Shipwreck Treasure Museum (both 10 minutes) or the Bodmin Jail Attraction (25 minutes). The fishing villages of Mevagissey (20 minutes) and Fowey (25 minutes) are both good places to get a sense of times gone by as well.
