  • Lively family park five minutes' drive from the coast at Looe
  • Huge range of facilities including cabaret room, bar, diner and café
  • Indoor pool, toddlers' pool, swim lessons, sports room and shop
‘We’re all going on a summer holiday…’ And a spring, autumn and, er, winter one too… At Tencreek Holiday Park, the nearest park to lovely Looe in Cornwall, you and the family can arrive in all seasons as a base for the best of south-east Cornwall and Devon, or just stay on site to spoil yourselves silly with the lashings of facilities and entertainment for all ages. And the views are pretty tenfastic too… Tencreek is aimed at families and couples, and as such has any number of tiptop things to try: a kids’ club just for starters, and an adventure playground and sports pitch for small sorts to whirl around outside. More grownuply, the park also has the Castaway entertainment complex with large cabaret room, bar, Deano’s Diner and indoor sports room with darts and pool; there's also family entertainment every night from the Yellow Coats and Tencreek mascots. Don’t forget the dog either: the park is dog friendly and has a dog walking area with access to the public footpath. If it rains, the kids won’t even notice once you get them to the heated indoor pool and toddlers’ pool, which are also open all year and free to use (there are classes such as Aquafit and kids’ swimming lessons available at a small additional charge). The thoughtful folk at Tencreek have ensured that the pool is always lifeguarded, and there are even adults-only sessions at times, if you can manage to get the kids dried off and packed off for a bit… The park also has a fully-stocked food shop, a café with takeaway and a modern laundry.

Primitive grass campsite

Liked The facility's are excellent and will stay again once we've brought a new tent

Disliked The weather, which destroyed out tent. When we stayed the weather was horrendous and beat up our tent. We ended up sleeping in our car and leaving after the 1st night. Luckily we have family in the area so staying with them for the rest of our weekend away

Primitive grass campsite

Liked Price, Location , view

Disliked Cleanliness of the pool water is absolutely disgusting it looked as dirty as the Ganges, they say you have to book swimming but it was like a free for all way to many people for the size of pool and is very unsafe with a sign that says the pool isn't always monitored. Our grass pitches was very poorly mapped out and marked nor was it level wheel blocks was not enough.

SHOWERS ARE PUSH BUTTON,

Seems to attract the wrong sorts of people letting their kids drive around at high speed skidding and wheel spinning.

Disliked Dogs not allowed in the pub or restaurant.
Couldn't use indoor pool or pub or restaurant as no dogs allowed in public areas.
Cigarette butt's and litter left from visitors on pitch area.
Some of the long term residents homes have junk, unkept trim around their homes.

Primitive grass campsite

Liked Clean and spacious facilities

Disliked This is not a quiet, natural camping spot, if that is what you are looking for. The smoking pool was already closed when we arrived at about 5 pm and wouldn't open until 10:45. You have to leave the pitch by 10:00, which is rather early and doesn't add to a relaxing experience. No footpath to Looe or the cost, you'll have to walk the road. Wifi is super expensive.

Powered grass campsite (maximum 6 metres)

Liked Great location, good price, friendly staff, pitches were easily laid out, great facilities, breakfast wasn't too shabby, safe environment for my motorbike, great on site Shop (lots of variety)

Disliked Advertising free WiFi but had to pay. Paid for a 7 days but only got 4/5 days as kept dropping out, we were not that far from main reception.
Some showers had poor water pressure.

Local attractions

Oodles of activities and attractions await once you’ve dragged yourself off site: pootle around Looe’s Harbour Quay, Banjo Pier and the 16th-century Old Guildhall in East Looe, or take a boat to Looe (St George’s) Island, where just once a year on a very low tide it’s possible to stroll to it across the sand. Sea-based sightseers can go from Looe to Fowey and take the ferry to Polruan or Bodinnick and the former house of Daphne du Maurier (Daphne and Rebecca fans can also go ghost hunting at Cornwall’s legendary coaching house at Bodmin Moor, said to be the county’s most famous smuggling inn). Most day trippers take a car for the 12-mile Looe-Fowey journey, but if you’re feeling energetic enough and want to see some stunning coastal scenery, the local South West Coast Path hike goes from West Looe to Polruan via Hannafore, Talland Bay and Polperro. You officially have full permission to get a bus or taxi back…
