  • Member price shown; non-members select £15/night extra or join for £69
Cornwall family holidays – sorted. Looe Caravan and Motorhome Club Campsite, a mile and a half from the seaside village itself, is packed with activities for all ages, This site is managed by the Caravan and Motorhome Club, but you don't have to be a member to stay. The price displayed is the discounted rate for members; non-members need to pay the additional £15/night or buy a membership. At £69 for the year, membership is certainly worth considering if you're likely to spend more than four nights at a Caravan and Motorhome Club site over the year – it brings discounts at over 140 UK Club sites, plus other perks like access to tailored caravan/motorhome insurance, discounts on days out and savings on top brands. With distant sea views and a collection of trees around the pitches, this park makes a lovely place to relax for a while. The pitches are nicely sized too, giving you plenty of scope to get your space just as you want it. Putting your feet up and enjoying the peaceful vibe is highly recommended, but there’s also plenty to keep more active souls entertained. The outdoor swimming pool (open from late May to September) is a popular feature, and there’s also a tennis court, a ball game area and a crazy golf course (you’ll need your own tennis racquets and golf clubs for these). The essential amenities are all sorted too, of course – the site has a launderette, a chemical disposal point, an information room, wifi and well-equipped bathrooms with accessible facilities and baby/toddler areas. A small supermarket and a fish and chip shop are within a 10-minute walk and Looe has plenty of places to shop and eat.

What customers say

This clean, well-kept park has friendly staff. Guests praise spacious sites, great amenities (pool, mini-golf), and an on-site shop. Public transport to Looe/Polperro is easy. Wi-Fi was often noted as poor/costly, and the cash-only shop was a recurring point. Some pitches are sloped.

FHU cement/asphalt travel trailer campsite

Liked Fantastic location and extremely well maintained site.

Disliked Do not turn up early!!
We turned up 23 minutes to 1 o’clock and a woman ran out within seconds and she demanded a £10 early charge or turn around and come back in 20 minutes. My 4x4 and caravan has a total length of 41ft and i couldn’t turn it around but i offered to wait and another woman came out demanding £10 as well. By this time we are only 15 minutes early and my wife goes into pay the £10 and a miserable bloke came out raising his voice saying you can’t leave the caravan there even though my wife had the money in her hand. The money was soon taken and slid under the counter and no receipt given or offered.
When hitching up the caravan i used the motor mover and moved the caravan up to my car on the road and he came and dropped a parking cone about 4 inches from my bumper behind the caravan. This site needs to sort most of their staff out as rude people with no social skills whatsoever…. I personally don’t think the site was a third full and i can see why all the negative comments are available on social media.
The only other thing is if you get a premium pitch you are next to the children’s park and it can be noisy and footballs being kicked around.

Liked Spacious. Quiet. Very clean. Fabulous pool.

Disliked Nothing to do in the evenings. Nowhere even walkable. No shops nearby. Onsite shop doesn't stock much and is CASH ONLY.
Having said all that, we really like it there and will keep going back. We just remember to take cash and DVDs to watch.

Powered grass travel trailer campsite

Liked The campsite was spacious and easily navigated, with clean, well appointed facilities. the team were very welcoming and friendly, making everyone feel at ease and valued. there is a shop (although the stock is somewhat limited), and a pool, plus a children's play area and a small crazy golf course and tennis court.

Disliked The site could benefit from some social hub, such as a small bar or cafe, and the prices in the shop were a little above what you could pay with a short drive. also, the shop only takes cash, which can prove to be a little awkward in this day and age.

Liked Campsite is great. Swimming pool is beautiful. Overall, very good, very clean, very tidy.

Disliked For the size of campsite, there is not enough waste bins. We had to walk miles for to put a bag of rubbish in a bin. Got sent away because we arrived to 20 minutes too early. We tried a park, an 8, and a 1/2 metre Van on a side of a road in a country lane. It was a little bit naughty other than that perfect.

Local attractions

What to do in Looe? Well, there’s the harbour, the beach, the rockpools and the seafood restaurants, of course. Beyond those, you could join a walking tour, visit the Old Guildhall Museum & Gaol or board a glass-bottomed boat – or head out on the South West Coast Path for the walk to Polperro (otherwise 15 minutes’ drive). This stretch of coast is packed with excellent walks, villages and beaches – Millendreath’s sheltered cove (five minutes’ drive), the craggy Rame Head (half an hour) and cute Fowey (40 minutes) are among the top picks. Inland, the Looe Valley offers up lots of lovely walks as well as attractions like Looe Valley Vineyard (15 minutes). Family outings might take you to Adrenaline Quarry (15 minutes), Porfell Wildlife Park & Sanctuary (20 minutes) or the famed domes of the Eden Project (half an hour). The museums of Plymouth (40 minutes) are another option – the National Marine Aquarium and The Box are good choices for damp days.
