  • Small, friendly site on a working farm in the South Downs
  • A 15-minute drive to Chichester; 10 minutes to the nearest beach
  • Farm tours available; 10 minutes' walk to tea rooms and a farm shop
With Hampshire to its west, West Sussex to its east, the coast a little way south and the South Downs National Park, Sindles Farm is in a splendid spot for a break that’s packed full of variety. From this location just outside the village of Aldsworth, it’ll take you about 10 minutes to drive to the beach at Emsworth, 15 minutes to Chichester and 20 minutes to Portsmouth or the many events of the Goodwood Estate. Walks are definitely on the cards too, whether you’re up for a long national park hike or the short 10-minute stroll across the field to the tea rooms and farm shop at Stansted Park. Also close by is the village of Westbourne (five minutes’ drive), which has an excellent family-run bakery, a small supermarket, a fish and chip shop, an Indian takeaway and three pubs to keep you fed and watered. If you fancy doing some of your own cooking, hire a barbecue from the site for an additional fee. Logs can also be purchased directly from the site to use with your own firepit (please note that fires may not be possible in certain weather conditions). Pick this site for your break and you’ll be staying on a small, friendly site on a working farm where free-range chickens stroll around, and you may be able to spot lambs in the right season. There’s always something going on, and the owners are very happy to answer questions or give tours to give guests a better insight into the farming life. There are shower and toilet facilities on site, as well as a drinking water tap.

Primitive grass tent campsite

Liked Loved the simplicity of the site, lovely views, quiet, peaceful. Clean portaloos and shower. We were lucky enough to have the place to ourselves too. Laura was a great host, and thank you to her children who delivered logs and a firepit for us to use.

Landpod camping pod

Liked Quiet location, spacious private pitch , very clean bathrooms in separate shepherds hut were lovely, a good amount of room in the land pod for me , my teenage daughter and our dog , great fire pit outside and outside bench and table , we were within a short drive of everywhere we wanted to go and a farm shop in walking distance.Laura sent a text the day before with exact location and came over to welcome us on arrival accompanied by her dogs who popped round to say hello ! Also Pineapple the cow in the little field next to us said hello every now and then which was lovely too . We will definitely be staying here again it was very relaxing ☺️

Disliked Nothing really , maybe a small blind or curtain over the little window on bathroom doors of wash huts would be good

Excellent site, would definitely recommend

Landpod camping pod

Liked Wonderful small site, landpod was lovely and the addition on the solar lights and charging points was great.
The best shower & toilet facilities I've visited.
Owner was nice and friendly as was the dogs that came to visit.
Nice private area in from of the pod, with a cow that came to see us in the mornings.
Some nice walks from the farm but also only a short drive to town/coast for a day out.

Primitive grass tent campsite

Liked Quiet area. Provision of logs for a fire pit is a nice touch at £10.

Disliked Entirely my own fault, assumed that the listing description of bespoke toilets etc applied to the basic campsite too - it did not. In retrospect this was explained in the listing.

The facilities available for basic camping are: unlit shower in anoutbuilding and two unlit festival style portaloos. There is a tap for drinking water.

Would highly recommend and use again

Landpod camping pod

Liked The site is well laid out with private areas for each pod or hut. It's a well kept site, clean and fresh. The toilet and shower huts are clean and fresh feeling. The landpod is very comfortable. It was so good to have charging available in the pod. Laura and her 2 dogs are friendly.

Disliked Nothing.

From the manager: Thanks for your review and for the photos.

Primitive grass tent campsite

Liked Flat pitches
Small, quiet site
Nice walk to Stanstead Park
Firepit hire

Disliked Portaloos
We saw the owners' dogs wee on people's camping equipment - there did seem to be some understanding from the owners that not everyone likes dogs (and we do), but it is probably better to keep them off the camping field as a default as it is quite a difficult thing to complain about if you're not keen.

From the manager: Hellol Thank you for taking time write your review. We do try and keep the dogs away from the camping field but guests feed them and they are very good escape artists! I do ask all guests to call me if the dogs appear. I am also getting more secure fencing and gates put around our garden so hopefully this will no longer be a problem. Laura
