What customers say

Pear Tree Farm provides a peaceful, back-to-basics camping trip with super friendly, helpful owners. Visitors love the warm welcome, alpaca encounters, and quiet, scenic spot near Brighton. Pitches are usually well-kept & spacious. Fewer facilities appeal to those wanting a serene getaway. Many plan to return.

Peartree primitive grass travel trailer campsite

Liked Nice flat, generally quiet location. Alpacas were cute and fun for the kids to be camping right next to them.

Disliked No rubbish disposal, right next to high voltage power lines.

Liked Nice quiet site. Sweet alpacas and other animals around. Owners very friendly and welcoming. Site was level and no noise around other than wildlife. Water tap and chemical disposal easy to hand.

Peartree primitive grass travel trailer campsite

Liked My daughter and I absolutely loved our two night stay here. We had a pitch right next to the alpacas who were utterly adorable! The owners were so friendly and kind. They let my daughter help feed the animals and walk their pony. It was a small, quiet site which was perfect.

Peartree primitive grass travel trailer campsite

Liked Quiet/central location, very friendly owners and alpacas! , plenty of space on pitch. Was nice to try somewhere different. Probably would return for these aspects

Disliked The chemical waste point was rather unpleasant and I couldn’t find a water point nearby to wash the toilet pot around with, only the fresh water outlet. With having to pay for an extra vehicle our stay was more expensive than a nearby site with electric unfortunately.

Peartree primitive grass travel trailer campsite

Liked Lovely friendly welcome, incredibly peaceful location and easy to find. Felt miles away from everywhere without having to be. Alpacas on site was great for kiddo to see! Lovely bit of shade to one side we could seek shelter in. Site facilities as described in listing back to basics. But this and being a smaller site meant there was utter peace despite the field being full. Felt incredibly safe and secure in there with there being people on site at all times. Son loved it and we will look to book again!

Liked Quiet, alpacas, hosts
Field

Disliked Lack of facilities but I knew that beforehand, think they are in the process of being built.
Pile of builders waste in front of you as you enter the site (just needs moving to another area as it’s the first thing you see) - first impression
Signage not entirely clear from the direction I was coming in

Peartree primitive grass travel trailer campsite

Liked Absolutely fabulous!! The owner Derek was so friendly and welcoming. We had a fantastic pitch for our camper next door to the alpaca 🦙 field 😁 Friendly campers around us, perfect location just 20mins from centre of Brighton and we drove to Devils Dyke nearby for Summer solstice to watch the sunset ...we are definitely going to return and Derek explained the toilets and shower block will be completed shortly.
Highly recommend 🙏✨🦙👌🚌

Local attractions

Seeking somewhere to stroll or cycle? You’ll be sorted in the South Downs National Park – with more than 2,000 miles of paths, it claims to have more to choose from than any other of the UK’s national parks. If the 100 miles of the South Downs Way seems a little daunting, perhaps the six-mile Centurion Way or the 11-mile Meon Valley Trail (along a disused railway line) will be more your style. Horsey types in search of something a little larger than the Shetland ponies can saddle up for rural rides about 10 minutes’ drive away, or head to Hickstead (five minutes’ drive) or Plumpton races (25 minutes) to see the pros in action. If you’re more into golf than gallops, you can take your pick from three courses within a 10-minute drive. Set off towards the seaside and you should hit Brighton in about 20 minutes or so. There’s always plenty to do along the buzzing stretch of beach, including watersports galore, traditional amusements on the pier and the excellent Sea Life aquarium. It’s worth leaving time to visit the toy museum and poke around in North Laine’s independent shops and cafés too.
