  • Peaceful country site 10 minutes' drive from Goodwood Motor Circuit
  • Around 10 minutes' drive from beaches at Pagham and Bognor Regis
  • Firepit area on site and five minutes' drive from a farm shop
Coast or country? Dither ye not, fair reader, for a stay at Lagnersh Camping is one that has you handily placed for both. The site is just 10 minutes' drive away from Goodwood Motor Circuit, making it a mightily handy spot to attend the events it puts on throughout the year such as the Goodwood Festival of Speed and Goodwood Revival. This peaceful site has five acres of gorgeous West Sussex countryside to its name, giving guests plenty of space from which to watch buzzards flying overhead or look out for the deer that sometimes drop in to graze. Fancy seeing a bit more? Clamber over the stile to stride forth on local footpaths, or drive for 15 minutes up to the South Downs National Park. ‘Like living in the middle of nowhere but only 10 minutes from civilisation’ is how the folks here describe their place. To back that up, a few minutes' drive away is a well-stocked farm shop for all the bits you need for a barbecue or a top-notch night at the site’s firepit area. Time to swap the rural views for some sea air? It’ll take you about 10 minutes to drive to Pagham or Bognor Regis, or around 20 for Climping and the Witterings.

What customers say

Great welcome, clean showers/wash-ups. Flat, spacious pitches near Chichester/Goodwood. Many liked the quiet & staff. Unisex toilets/showers a concern for some (privacy, cleanliness). Noise from outside & other campers noted.

Liked Nothing

Disliked Untidy with lots of rubbish piled up against bins.
Pitches not properly marked out and electric cables lying across the field between hookups. Grass not mown or kept tidy- just looks all very haphazard.
The children’s playground is particularly sad- looks like something from Chernobyl!
Toilet block needs better cleaning and updating. No way I would use the showers.
To enter the site required two codes for a gate and barrier which was fiddly.
Dogs were extra cost- why? It is basically just a field that we stayed in.
I paid for two nights but only stayed for one. Then I found a site only about 10 miles away which was absolutely amazing, has won awards and costs the same price.
Would never recommend staying here.

Liked Location is ok

Disliked 1/ The caravan graveyard not shown in the site photos. Along the right hand side of the field is a strip of gravel/rubble with ~ 20 caravan & RV trailers with half of them in a very poor state of repair (missing locker doors, taped up windows, tarps over damaged awnings, general disrepair and unloved). Many look to have been there for extended periods and look fit for scrapping. Makes you wonder are they abondoned or who is living in them.
2/ General cleanliness, the outdoor washing area, kitchen shed, shower block and toilets were dirty and no sign of them being properly cleaned for the 3 days I stayed, I suspect much longer.
3/ Security/repair of the door latches on unisex toilets and showers doors.
4/ The power hook-ups covered with bin bags and surface cables does not inspire confidence in electrical safety.
5/ No marked pitches, I returned from a day out to find a camper van ~50cm from my tent when over 50% of the field was empty, suggest marked pitches or do a better check-in.

From the manager: The showers toilets are cleaned daily a fair few times ... The weather was awful as soon as we cleaned them they were filthy with rain we had been having ...the bags in the electric boxes were an extra precaution as we had been forecast a heavy storm so we always cover them in this situation to help protect them even though they are waterproof water finds a way in to anything
As for how people have there caravans is up to them not us so other people's property should not be commented on at all as that's unfair .
As for the power cables they are our pop up pitches that are done safely and would not be done any other way for Goodwood as we accommodate a lot of the team who need electric .

Liked Nothing

Disliked Approach is a narrow single lane track . Entrance consists of a two tier gate both controlled with combination pad locks( which I could break into quicker than I could put in the numbers). The toilet block is rudimentary and dirty to the point that we didn’t want to use it . The shower block we wouldn’t use. On returning in the evening our allocated pitch had been given to someone else, the security man managed to find us another pitch by running an extra long extension lead. We were woken during the night by next doors barking dog and left the muddy field , as there is no road access to the pitches ,never to return.
