The onsite pool and restaurants arras…
Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked The onsite pool and restaurants arras
Disliked The facilities at the camping area were awful, not cleaned not large enough not private enough especially with you children and a teenage daughter. The shower block is more like a football changing room. Very disappointed with that.

Campsite was lovely. The entertainment campus was not.
Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked Staff at the campsite were super friendly. The size of the pitch you get was fantastic. The dog area was great. Toilets were kept well and always had loo roll. Campsite staff were always at hand if you needed anything.
The shop and arcade was great.
Disliked We didn't like the fact the showers didn't have there own cubicles , so you showered and then was open for others to see you getting dressed but wasn't the end of the world.
The entertainment was a 20 minute walk away from the campsite. The food came out cold and our plates were not cleaned from our table for around 45 minutes, our puddings didn't come out atall and I reminded the staff twice.
The hall where the entertainment was smelt awful and was so dated, my children walked in and walked straight back out saying they couldn't stay in there. There was not enough tables and chairs if they wanted to stay in there anyway. Toilets were so dated.

Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked Sandy balls resort was fab and the campsite was a short walk away.
Campsite was very clean and not overcrowded
Disliked The shower cubicles- there is no privacy with only curtain la on little cubicles so you have to get out and get changed in front of everyone. My teenage daughter hated it.
Couldn’t request plots together as a group.

Facilities…
Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked Facilities
Disliked How close to a very busy road the campsite was. We booked for 2 nights but left after 1 due to having no sleep. The road was busy all night and large lorries was passing from about 4am. Not relaxing at all and did not feel like we were in the new forest. I also don't think it is clear from the website that the campsite is not part of the main campus

Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked The facilities and activities are great
Disliked Staff were mostly but not always unaware of basic needs such as providing cutlery for food. Servicing customers. The pool wristband system for an hour at a time does not work well and causes confusion for people which is not explained just assumed it is known. It appears most customers are an inconvenience for staff

I wouldn’t pay £60 a night again for what we had this year.
Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked The actual pool.
The kids driving experience
Disliked Campsite very poor only be washing up basin, only four women’s toilets and no washing place.
Pool changing area very poor, showers not working, not enough room to put bags when changing.

Overall a really affordable trip for a load of college students.
Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked So many nice people, very relaxed atmosphere. Whilst there is only one place to wash dishes in the campsite, people are very accommodating and understanding. Extremely quiet during the night as well. The walk to the resort is less than 10 minutes, with it being mostly in the shade. As well as a welcome kit provided upon entry that consisted of the weeks itinerary and our guest passes, we were thrilled.
Disliked The showers were awful, as a group of teenage girls, we hated using the showers. Having only a curtain to wash in and a communal hook for clothes, I flashed many people trying to dry off. Also very unclear on how to use them. At one point I had to help some poor young girl to turn on her shower - bare in mind shes bare and im only in a towel. Very humbling, to say the least.

Very disappointing, not the experience we were expecting.
Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked The Sandyballs estate is nice, clean with good facilities (restaurants, shops, swimming pools etc) a stark contrast to the campsite they provide, which is a poor relation of the main place. The pitches were a good size, and you can walk (10 mins) to main resort.
Disliked Campsite was very disappointing. A real after thought to the main resort. A barren field, very basic facilities (one washing up sink for the whole camp site; portaloos and basic shower facilities). No signage to show the way between the campsite and the resort. Busy road running alongside side the field. No trees in the campsite even though the Sandyballs marketing suggests a tree-filled forest. Very disappointing.

David who was managing the site…
Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked David who was managing the site when we arrived was extremely helpful. He helped us with our tent, let us chose our spot. He kept the toilets immaculate and the showers. We went from Monday to Wednesday, it wasn’t as overly busy as it probably is on the weekend which was better for us. The village was good, there was utmost Elton on on Monday for entertainment, which was really good. We didn’t do the karaoke in the Tuesday and went off site Tuesday and Wednesday. Good location not far from the town/lake.
Disliked Wasn’t really on the sandy balls site. Was only about a 5 minute walk to the village so all ok. We had access to the leisure centre and indoor and outdoor swimming pool which was good. However, you only have access for a hour. I can understand they probably have a limit when the site is busy. All other activities are quite costly for what they were. £15 each for most activity’s, which is quite a lot for families and why we didn’t do them.
