Disappointed with customer communication

Liked Did not get there
Disliked Sorry to say we had to cancel our visit due to the car tow electrics not working. We tried to contact Brightlingsea touring park and explain. No one answered the landline or the mobile number supplied. We did get through to the booking agent from the number on the arrival information and explained what had happened. I emailed the person Lyn Stibthorpe who had sent me the information and tried several times to reach her by phone and considering the mobile number was for out of hours emergency it was not answered . I left messages on both. I consider this to be really bad practice as sometimes these things happen beyond our control . No one has yet contacted me Not good customer service.

Liked The clearly labelled pitches, with clean grasses pitches.
All of the facilities were clean and well signposted.
The introduction email with the explanation of how it all works and information needed was so reassuring.
Disliked I stayed for one night and had a lovely experience.

Nice site but please improve the facilities
Powered cement/asphalt and grass campsite (lake view)
Liked Nice area spacious pitches. Close to shops, cafe and pubs. Nice area for walk
Disliked Facilities need an upgrade. Ladies shower/loo block very tired. Tap tops missing shower settings back to front. Hot was cold and vice versa. We had stayed earlier this year and the block hadn’t improved

In summary, we had a thoroughly enjoyable 5 nights away.
Powered cement/asphalt and grass campsite (lake view)
Liked Brightlingsea is lovely, and the campsite is located perfectly between the town and the sea front. The site itself has lovely views across the boating lake, and my 14 month old loved seeing the ducks and swans paddling and walking around.
Disliked We didn’t receive the welcome email, which didn’t seem to be unusual, having spoken to other campers on site. On arrival there was nobody to greet us and show us where our pitch was (we did arrive on a Sunday) so it was a little frustrating trying to contact somebody before we could get set up.
The pitches are very close together and the toilet/shower facilities are in desperate need of an update, although they were kept reasonably clean throughout our stay.
The site is also adjacent to the main road leading to the sea front, and seems to attract various boy racers of an evening.

Nothing because we couldn't stay…

Liked Nothing because we couldn't stay
Disliked Couldn't make it due to family bereavement. Tried to contact owner day before to cancel. She said id had to contact putch up. Because I didnt have an account through pitch up i couldn't cancel it. I was fine about losing deposit but to lose the whole amount was a little unfair. This site would have been handy for us when visiting family in Brightlingsea but in future we will go elsewhere

Liked As ever the location was lovely and the town itself has lots going on and plenty of places to eat and drink. We even timed it right as the fair was in town.
Arrived and realised on a pitch not suitable for our awning , the site staff couldn't have been better at addressing our issues and getting us swapped on to a suitable one. Really grateful for them.
Disliked The showers are woeful they were last time too either freezing or boiling no in between and occasionally no water pressure but they were clean so didn't ruin our enjoyment.
