  • Quiet and welcoming East Sussex site 10 minutes’ drive from Wadhurst
  • National Trust - Bateman’s 10 minutes’ drive; Bodiam Castle 20 minutes
  • Dog-friendly pitches with access to walks; pub five minutes’ drive
Heading East Sussex way? If you’re looking for that heady combination of peace, a warm welcome and country views, make a beeline for Cairds Camping and Caravanning Site, 10 minutes’ drive from the village of Wadhurst and surrounded by pretty rural scenery. There's a myriad of walks directly from this family-run site, as well a range of visitor attractions nearby from gorgeous gardens to activity centres – although getting out and about means you'll have to tear yourself away from your pitch, which all have great vistas across the surrounding fields and woodlands. Your dogs are welcome to join your rambles and explorations, but please keep them on a lead at all times when on site. Locally there are plenty of pretty villages tucked away in the East Sussex countryside that have traditional pubs – the nearest being Burwash (five minutes’ drive). If you need a quick top-up on supplies, head to Wadhurst, which has a few small shops; for bigger shopping sprees, Tunbridge Wells (25 minutes) should see you right. And the practical bits? Facilities include communal showers, a washing-up area and drinking-water points across the site. Should you prefer to fend for yourselves instead of making a beeline for a pub, you can hire firepits on site as well as buying logs for the fire.

Liked Beautiful and quiet campsite.
Owners extreamly helpful when we were having air tent problems, which due to no fault of them then issue with our tent couldn't be fixed and we had to pack up and leave. Unfortunately we didn't end up spending the night but we will definitely return.
Thank you to the owners Naomi and her dad for being so kind and helpful.

Liked The location
The owner
The view
The hot shower
Fire pits and bbqs allowed

Disliked Minor details:
A small site so could feel on top of each other when at full capacity.
Easier access to the mowed dog walkway with signage. Extra shelf/ ledge and hooks in the bigger shower cubicle.
Hooks by the washing up area.
Optional choice for ehu or not,
Offering a lower price option
Both shower/ toilet cubicles could of been a bit cleaner
