Barker Knott Farm is a traditional working Lake District farm with stunning mountain views, glorious walks and an abundance of wildlife. If your idea of a memorable stay is to view, relax and dream then this could be the place for you. Situated in the beautiful hamlet of Winster at the head of the Lyth Valley famous for damsons and unspoilt countryside within close proximity of Bowness on Windermere. The pods are situated on the west side of the farm overlooking the pond, farm animals and meadows. A country lovers paradise. Both pods have views spectacular views of the Lakeland mountains from the raised decking and a 15 minute stroll will enable you to view the counties of Cumbria, Yorkshire and Lancashire. Both pods are self contained and have everything you need for a comfortable and memorable stay. You will find a self contained shower room, TV, wifi, underfloor heating, kitchen units, 2 ring gas hob, oven and grill, small fridge freezer, microwave and cooking utensils. Luxury bedding and towels are included along with fresh flowers and a few welcome treats. We are happy to arrange little extras if you have booked your holiday for a special celebration and we endeavour to make your celebration as special and as memorable as we can.

Local attractions

Lake Windermere is a 5 minute care drive away where you will find steamer trips, galleries, boutiques, pubs and numerous restaurants. There is an excellent bus service from Bowness which will allow you to explore the wonderful Lake District. There is an abundance of water sport activities to take part in whether its sailing, kayaking, canoeing, rowing or wild swimming not to mention mountain walks, museums, historic houses, golf courses, fishing or horse riding but to name a few. There are many marked footpaths situated on the farm which will take you in every direction - ideal for an evening stroll whilst watching the sun setting behind the mountains. This really is an excellent base for exploring the stunning Lake District, the wonderful towns and villages and everything the Lake District has to offer to visitors.
