What customers say
This basic, remote site has stunning 360° countryside views, perfect for peace. Guests loved the friendly owner & "wild camping" vibe. Minimal facilities (portaloos, water dispenser) had some cleanliness/availability issues. Access is via narrow lanes. Some found it pricey for amenities, but many enjoyed the getaway.

Lovely basic campsite, (read the access and facilities info) worth it!
Primitive grass campervan campsite
Liked Lots of space, dogs loved it. Views were amazing. Very basic but that’s in the description, two porta loos which are emptied and cleaned regularly (but still a bit manky, like most porta loos are lol).
Love that camp fires and bbq are allowed as can’t beat an evening sat by the fire enjoying the sunset.
Road in and out are a bit of an adventure on their own lol. We have a lwb high top transit. Wouldn’t want to attempt it in anything wider.
Definitely take note of the info on the booking site about which way to get to the site otherwise you will end up at a very narrow bridge.
Disliked Not a dislike just an observation. It’s on a hill (obviously lol) if it’s busy it can be a bit hard to find a good place to set up with out blocking people’s views. So just be mindful of this when deciding where to set up. Everyone is there to enjoy.

Primitive grass campervan campsite
Liked Stunning scenery. You can have fires there.
Disliked I was surprised there was no drinking water. No water or soap in portaloo sink, poorly working flush in portaloo and so one of portaloo blocked.

Primitive grass campervan campsite
Liked Absolutely stunning views, full moon, no light pollution stars amazing. It was a clear night.
Disliked Once you’ve driven up the very narrow single track lane, which I encountered a tracker n van my car has a scratch all down one side now hopefully will tea cut out.
Please could the farmers cut back the hedges to allow for passing vehicles.

Liked Beautiful location, very peaceful with great views. We only stopped for one night on route to another destination but managed to watch a barn owl hunting from our site.

Excellent wild camping site. Stunning views
Primitive grass campervan campsite
Liked Location was perfect. 360° views of uninterrupted countryside. Farmer was friendly, came to say hello then left us to it. There were 2 portaloos but we didn't use them as had our own.
Not completely level, but we had ramps so wasn't a problem for us. Couldn't fault the site at all. Exactly what we needed - Peace and quiet
Disliked The bridge that the sat nav took us over, extremely narrow for a campervan, it was a very tight squeeze. Would go a different way next time.

I’d use it again happily
Primitive grass campervan campsite
Liked Lovely spot at the foot of the Howgills, wonderful grass, portaloos and nothing else so basic and doesn’t attract noisy families, owner was straightforward and helpful in a Sedbergh armed way
Disliked If the wind is the wrong direction you can heat the main road
