Great location
Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked A cracking site with great quality, well drained ground, handy for driving in pegs. We walked from the site over Muncaster fell to Ravenglass and hopped on the steam train to come back. The box for charging devices was a nice touch.
Disliked Most of the pictures shown are of how the site looked a couple of years back. It's now half the size. A number of sizable groups rolled in at the weekend and put an end to the calm due to the close proximity. I'd definitely go again but opt for a midweek visit instead.

No frills, peaceful location, very accommodating host.
Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked Lovely flat campsite, with decent facilities, ie free hot showers, clean toilets, covered washing up area alongside a communal seated area if you wish to get out of the tent.
Jonnty is a great (unique) host, very helpful and accommodating with a lot of knowledge about the area if you need anything. The free fire pits were particularly welcome.
Disliked Nothing to dislike....it's camping

Amazing stay you won’t be disappointed
Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked There’s so much to love about this campsite from Jonny, an amazing and super friendly host who’s happy to help with anything. The three showers are great as well as all of the toilets, clean and stocked with tissue. Our gazebo got blown over and destroyed second night by the wind but not to worry as we spent the night in the large communal poly tunnels structure which houses the 5 washing up stations. All in all you can’t complain about the facilities available, oh and there’s WiFi and an area near the entrance to charge devices. Close drive to Seascale and Wasdale lake which is beautiful and has many walking routes on AllTrails
Disliked I tried to think of anything that could be improved but I actually can’t, it’s got everything you would want on a camping trip, it’s perfect

The site setting was beautiful.…
Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked The site setting was beautiful.
Disliked As a seasoned camper I really liked the site on arrival. The owner was informative and helpful. Unfortunately I'd booked for 2 nights and only stayed for 1. Site rules state quiet after 10 o'clock. Great I thought I needed rest after travelling all day and mountain hiking planned the next day. But it only works if fellow campers follow the rules. I'm not exaggerating to say a large group with a small camping set up we're a nightmare. 3 cars, 2 smallish tents, 3 adults, 3 kids, a baby and a dog. One woman kept busting into laughter every other minute like a hyena as if she was at a comedy show. This went on until 01.30. The only time she quietened down was when her laughter woke the baby at about 12.30. Lovely, time to sleep. Oh no not a chance, once the baby had gone off the woman was off again. Some people are just not suited to camping. They are in their own bubble oblivious to respect those around them. Not the sites fault. But they need to enforce the rules. Unfortunately by the time I'd packed up to relocate camp sites the owner was not around to speak to regarding the matter. Thankfully the site I'd booked close by was everything camping should be.
