Low Green Farm is home to Toadpipe Hall – gather around all you 'Wind in the Willows' fans, for this is the exclusive spot for you. What could be more romantic than a dinky caravan, nattily decked out with all mod cons and more than a few extras? Specially designed for loved-up couples, Toadpipe Hall has a double bed all made up for your arrival, a TV and wardrobe space, plus a bathroom with loo, basin and shower. The kitchenette is decked out with a microwave, hob and fridge, plus there’s a cosy living space as well. Music is no problem at all until 11pm, so make the most of warm nights with the outdoor table and chairs, spark up the firepit and get the barbecue going to the sounds of your favourite band. Grab a glass of wine to watch the sunset, taking shelter under the large umbrella if it's a damp day. Grange-over-Sands (10 minutes’ drive) offers up gift shops, cafés and a seafront promenade as well as an outdoor pool. You can source bits and pieces from the handy stores there, although Kendal (25 minutes) is your best bet for serious shopping trips, with several major supermarkets. If you fancy a flutter on the horses, Cartmel (15 minutes) has racing over the summer, and for a big night out, head to Bowness-on-Windermere (25 minutes) for its waterfront pubs and restaurants.

Local attractions

Getting out into the bracing open air is part of the attraction of staying here; the lakeside town of Windermere (15 minutes’ drive) is springboard to many outdoor adventures like hiking in Grizedale Forest, ghyll scrambling and canyoning. For less challenging pursuits, walk up to Cautley Spout waterfall (45 minutes) for Yorkshire Dale views, or climb up to the stone cairns in Whitbarrow National Nature Reserve (15 minutes). Keen to get out on a lake? Head out onto Coniston Water (30 minutes) for sailing lessons and canoeing. Want to hit the beach? Take a dip at Blackstone Point beach (35 minutes) on warmer days, or clamber over the dunes at the National Trust-owned Sandscale Haws National Nature Reserve (35 minutes) for a surefire way to clear any cobwebs. To learn about the local wildlife, head to the Lakes Aquarium (15 minutes) to see native fish in tanks, plus otters and tufted ducks. More exotic animals at South Lakes Safari Zoo (30 minutes) include endangered lemurs, hippos and red pandas, or you can feed rare snow leopards at the Lakeland Wildlife Oasis (20 minutes).

Toadpipe Hall 1 bedroom on-site trailer

Liked: The peace and quiet, and the outside space . The owners let us arrive early and leave when we wanted which was very kind. We thought the location really good for visiting local attractions.

Disliked: Several items in the caravan needed repairing , such as blinds and cupboard fittings. Did not like the toilet running out of water/chemicals every morning meaning we could not flush it. Also the bed is so small that one of us had to sleep in the living area.

Toadpipe Hall 1 bedroom on-site trailer

Liked: This was a very relaxing weekend. The caravan was clean and there is plenty of outside space. The fire pit is very useful on a night. Lacks a hot tub that would finish this place off.

Disliked: Fridge and freezer requires to be switched on prior to guests arriving with food, milk etc. There is very little phone signal.

Toadpipe Hall 1 bedroom on-site trailer

Liked: Lovely caravan with everything needed for a relaxing stay in a beautiful setting. The caravan was adequate for two with a full size cooker, fridge freezer, shower and chemical toilet. It benefitted from additional new awning with a further seating area. Set in a large private area with a further gazebo seating area and large firepit with plenty of logs to burn. Only a 10 minute drive to Grange and around 30 mins to the lakes. Phone signal was hit and miss but that didn't concern us at all. Paul & Louise we're lovely and at hand if needed but left us to enjoy our stay :)
