What customers say
Quiet, well-kept site in gorgeous rural setting. Ideal for hikes and stargazing. Guests rave about the friendly owners, great dog facilities, and clean loos, though some find them a bit dated. Near Kielder Forest and Pennine Way. Remote, so bring supplies. Midges can bother you if it's warm.

Liked The dog walk from the caravan park. Watching the birds on the trees.
Disliked I’ll try and brief!
1) No map provided of the site.
2) No signage to show where Elsan, waste water and drinking water is.
3) No water available at point of Elsan. Had to use empty bottles and make numerous trips to and from a working tap. Not particularly hygienic or safe due to ice under foot.
4) Both the toilets and shower next to the touring caravan pitches were closed until spring next year. We were told that this is to reduce the risk of pipes becoming frozen and bursting.
5) The touring caravan pitches were the furthest away from toilet and shower facilities that were open.
6) We had to ask for the road into the caravan site to be gritted due to it being frozen and safety when leaving whilst towing our caravan.
7) The path, road and grass on the site were icy and frozen for most of our stay. Obviously that can’t be avoided but, again, there was no grit available for people to use.
8) The woman’s toilet and shower area was quite possibly I’ve ever seen. Definitely one where I would always use my crocs to shower in!
9) Sharp edges to a crown in the shower - see photo.
10) The floor under the mat, which is outside of shower, was moving. Pulled back mat and saw cover which was rusty and unstable.
11) Think the rest of the photos speak for themselves……
12) Not worth £40 a night.

Liked Friendly staff, easy to find. Good hot water, toilets and small kitchen area next to the touring pitches. Everything clean and tidy.
It's really, really dark at night😁
Disliked Shower block could have been warmer (it's mid October, so quite chilly). As others have stated, it's a little dated.

Liked We loved everything. Management were pleasant and helpful. Being wheelchair dependant, our tourer is adapted for my special needs, but hubby tells me that the toilets and showers were pristine. The road surfaces and pitches were all smooth enough to allow me to access the whole park, and even venture a fair distance outside of the park, to look at and enjoy time by the river. Many camp sites are deep in gravel, which is no go for wheelchairs, walking frames . Peace and quiet, lots of bird song. The perfect place for walkers, dog owners, bird watchers and people like me who love to just sit around, doing nothing very much. We'll be back.xx
Disliked I'm sure that rainy weather was the culprit, but if the grass had been a little shorter along the path to the bridge, I would have been able to venture further. I did meet one lady who had a complaint. She said that her dogs would be going home an inch shorter than when they arrived, because they've never walked so much or had so much fun in their lives.

Re your comments about the grass along the bridleway , I will look into what we might be able to do. .
