Welcome! (added by manager 07 aug 2021)

  • Small, secluded back to basics farm site with a nature pond
  • A 10-minute drive from Halesworth; 20 minutes from Southwold
  • Play area and shared fridge freezer; friendly pub five minutes' walk
Sunnyside Campsite is a peaceful one-acre site with spacious grassy pitches surrounded by ash trees and hawthorn hedges. This small-scale meadow is also easily accessible by public transport – Brampton station is a 10-minute cycle or 30-minute walk from base. This fab farm site has a nature pond, kids' play area and a tumbledown old stable that houses the spick and span toilets and water point. Other handy facilities here include a washing-up point and use of a shared fridge freezer. Campfires and barbecues are allowed (as long as they're raised off the ground). Firepits are available to hire on site, and logs and charcoal can also be bought from the little honesty shop. Fish suppers are on the cards on Thursdays, when fresh local seafood is sold from a visiting van. Sunnyside Campsite is in a prime location for cyclists, who can set out on long or short-distance pedals along National Cycle Route 1 that passes at the end of the lane. Walkers and folk who like messing around in boats also have lots of options here – the Suffolk coastline can be reached in under 20 minutes' drive, while the Norfolk Broads are under a half hour away. The site is a few minutes' stroll from a friendly community pub and a village play area. Cafés, restaurants and a larger supermarket are all in Halesworth (10 minutes' drive).

Sunny powered grass campsite

Liked: Lovely rustic campsite in the heart of the suffolk countryside. As we were at the end of the camping season, the site was quiet (and final night was a bonus having the whole site to ourselves as we were their last campers for the year!). Could hear an owl nearby in the night, chickens and moorhens free roaming. Really well kitted out honesty shop including lots of snacks, homemade cake, food items and refreshments plus you can hire firepits, logs etc. 2 toilets which are very clean and the shower was £1 for 7 minutes, again really clean. Lovely little touches with fresh flowers in both. 5 minute walk to The Racehourse Community pub which is dog friendly and the best Sunday lunches! Super friendly. 👌 Would highly recommend.

Primitive grass campsite

Liked: The relaxed atmosphere, had no issues with finding it, arriving and pitching up.

Disliked: Had no contact with the owners, there was just a sign saying if we aren't here to meet you then find the pitch number on the list and plot up. Would have been nice for someone to either have greeted us or popped by to say hello.

From the manager: Hi thank you for your review. I’m sorry that we didn’t manage to meet you. We were up at the annual Apple & Pumpkin festival in the village - organising a children’s art exhibition and running stalls & games. It was late by the time we had cleared up and got back home, so it was unfortunate that we didn’t manage to see you to say hello. An invitation to guests to come along to the event was in the store. Everyone was very welcome, and it was lovely to see other guests at the festival and pub. We hope that the welcome / arrivals board with pitch allocations provides enough information for guests to arrive and pitchup without needing to see us to check in. We also provide a sheet of information on each pitch to help guests to find everything. We offer a relaxed, no fuss site for people to come & go as they wish. Normally we are around and is unfortunate that on this occasion we were not able to be here, but I’m very glad to hear that you managed ok and enjoyed your night. If you should wish to come back again, please do consider staying for a bit longer, when there would be more opportunity for us to see you! Thanks again for camping at our little site and for your feedback. Kind Regards, Sally
